It an odd issue that really started before Emery but hope both manager & player can be ****ed off by next season.
'Sutton, however, believes only Özil himself can truly resolve the issue.

He said: "I don't care how much Mesut Özil is paid, the main thing is how he's is performing on the pitch in an Arsenal shirt - and he's not.'

WTF is this, Özil has had ONE PREMIER LEAGUE APPEARANCE. WHat the Feck is he talking about here?

I used to get frustrated with the games he would miss through mysterious circumstances but the way he's been frozen out this season is scandalous given the way we've been playing.

These are the sorts of games Özil would be made scape goat for. But he can't be now he's frozen out.

We recycled a lot of possession in this game and did nothing with it. It's the sort of game you look to Özil to come on for the final 30 minutes and find a pass. The state of Emery... Entirely self inflicted

If you watch the Watford game when Özil played yes we faced 30 shots but everytime we attacked with Özil and Ceballos we looked very dangerous.

So if the club and manager not fancy mesut then at least get someone who will try create chances. Liverpool also play with no AM but they use Thier fullbacks to be dangerous and of course the movement of their front 3.

Hang on guys. He's almost there.

Just gotta shave off a few more seconds off his 4 mile run, and he will be considered ready for selection.
Don't think he'll ever start many games with us the club could've forced emery to play mesut but they looking for future because as I said before if the club want mesut to there is no way saka and Willock will start ahead of him

Correct. But it's against business ethics to meddle with the team selection.

Manager picks the team and he will be answerable for the results

Wasn’t there a tweet last year after EL final where Özil’s camp said he is not going anywhere and is confident he will out last Emery...

His camp tweet every few months, Özil puts up the 'Ready for the weekend' tweets every so often & the club put him in a matchday squad every 30ish days.

... almost like all sides are setting up evidence for a future tribunal.

“We aren't party to how Arsenal train or what's goes on but if Özil was doing that well - and we know what a superb talent he is - Unai Emery would know what impact he would have on the team, so he would play him, because he wants to win games and improve.”

This is where people get it wrong by giving Emery the benefit of the doubt.

Emery is the kind of insecure, stubborn, ego-driven, tunnel-visioned control freak who would rather risk losing top 4 than be proven wrong. He doesn’t want to win. He wants to be proven right.

It’s not that Özil deserves to start every game or that he’s our best player but what are the players who are starting in his place doing?

Can anyone state with a straight face what exactly it is that we gain by dropping him?
Many of them can't state **** because, except for couple of posters like Jury and Jae who've been consistent about Özil for years, quite a few developed a lot of their hatred for him because they were until recently Emery nut huggers and were just trying to justify his weird grudge.

Just look at a lot of their criticism. Things like how Özil being grossly overpaid for the performances he's putting in apparently justifies playing players that are objectively worse instead, for reasons.
**** like moaning about his body language, seemingly not caring were all "issues" they used to defend him against for years. Suddenly they don't like him and they parrot that same point they used to deride pundits for making.

He can't play away game? Well neither can any of our other players apparently looking at our results. Funny that a new player like Ceballos can't play away from home either apparently. Does he have personality issues as well? Coincidentally he apparently likes fascists too. Maybe it's a political thing with Emery.

My favourite criticism levied against him though is the one about him being a sicknote. This is literally **** that got picked up because they couldn't explain why he wasn't even in the squad for so much of last season. Well they can't use that as an excuse anymore, but doesn't stop them with running with it.
Funnily enough the origin of the conspiracy is his supposed back issues they thought and apparently still think he was making up. The fact that even the German NT confirmed he had back issues wasn't enough to convince them, German FA and Wenger must have conspired behind the scene to give him extra holidays apparently.

While he’s not necessarily the answer to all our problems, I don’t see what’s being gained with his exclusion?

Seen countless young players drool over him in training so he’s hardly a disruptive influence.

Can’t think of many top managers, that with our squad, wouldn’t at least have him on the bench.

Let’s all be honest and not kid ourselves, whether you want Emery out, or you think Özil is a shadow of the player he once was, a waste of wages etc... we are all supposed to be supporting Arsenal first and foremost!

Can anyone honestly say that we have better options than Özil as a #10? As much as the game has changed, Emery insists on playing a formation that accommodates a #10 role... and everyone who has taken up that position has been much worse in terms of doing the main job required of the role.

Imagine if any other player who excels at the prime aspect of their role and isn’t allowed to play and is instead replaced by inferior options. Imagine if Auba, who is banging in goals and saving us on regularly this season, was suddenly not ‘working hard enough in training’ and Emery dropped him from the squad! Even if we could all see he was being lazy, had a poor attitude when subbed and didn’t track back to defend etc.. but was still lethal in the box and scoring goals (his main purpose).... would people be happy with inferior replacements, who don’t score goals, just because they have a better work ethic?

For me I’d put effectiveness to do the main aspect of a role (in Özil’s case, create) over effort. You may not like a certain personality but if you really support the club you’d want to see the best players on the pitch or at least in the squad to help us, bar an injury.

Have anyone noticed that the best or maybe the only team goal we have scored was against Watford. Thinking back all we have managed to score are scrappy goals or individual brilliance from our attackers.

And you all know who built up that goal. #BringBackOzil !!!!!

Getting Özil off our books allows us to sign players who are objectively better than him though............
