No excuses for him anymore as far as I'm concerned. Expecting consistent performances and for him to finally prove he's worth the money we're paying him.

Emery gone. That means no more excuses.

Can't wait to see him rack up the assists we've been promised!

The only comments that matter are those of you fellow pros:

He has absolutely nothing to prove. His quality is beyond doubt.

True. We’ve seen what he’s capable of, but his capability has never been questioned.

And he always performs when others around him do their jobs.
Bit of a nothing comment really, lacking logic. The classic passing of the buck.

He’s meant to be the creative hub. If everyone around him has to play well for him to have a good game, we’d be better off without him, because if everyone played well bar Özil, or any one player, we’d most probably win irrespective of how he performed anyway. You do your boy a big disservice saying that. Luckily for us, your assertion isn’t true by any stretch, as his recent decent performances in defeat, where he's been probably the best player for us (not saying a great deal) have shown.

Unfortunately for Özil being our best player is not good enough to get him credit anymore. For his critics he must either be putting constant performances worthy of his 350k wage which he isn't really capable of anymore or he's rubbish.

The usual suspects with their weird Özil obsession.

The players must be thrilled. The whole "no more excuses" resets every 6 months at Arsenal.

He's been here since 2013 and has shown absolutely no consistency. The potential is there, but to be at a top club, you gotta put in those 9/10 performances almost every time. He doesn't.

If you take Leicester at home last season as peak 100% I’d like minimum 70% of that performance for 70% of his games.

I think that’s reasonable. It’s completely unrealistic to expect a constant stream of 10/10 performances, but its fair to seek some kind of minimum baseline consistency for a player of his ability, reputation and remuneration.

Özil is our best player. Anyone who disagrees is an A1 *.

Wait how have the mods changed noncé to @GDeep™ ? That’s scandalous
