Since Mikel Arteta joined Arsenal:

What has changed?

Sporting directors have been replaced

Almost 30 players have been signed, and a similar number have left

Medical staff and doctors have been replaced

Even U.S. politics changed — Trump lost the 45th presidency and later returned as the 47th

What has remained constant?

Arsenal winning no trophies

FA Cup doesn't count?

Anyone subscribe to the Athletic? Not sure if they caveat our sub timing data with the fact that we've been forced to many many early subs due to injuries which are heavily skewing the data.

I do. It was a blurb in a longer article (which was published on 5 December). Here's the Arsenal bit.

Probably the the luckiest win under him. I didn't like anything right from the starting line up. Big wake up call and he needs to make some tough decisions with some players.

He has neither the aura nor mettle of a winning manager. He scorns the domestic cups (ironic since his solitary cup win is what's kept him gainfully employed for 6 years) & can't seem to deliver the big pots.

Next Summer requires a serious reassessment of continuing with him at the helm.

I expect a barrage of moronic hate.

But in reality, not all games come easy and it's good we're the ones to win last minute. Additionally, we've been on the whole fantastic in the league, so props to Arteta.

THAT SAID, this game was a massive wake up call.

As much as we've been good defensively for most of our games, we are still way too poor against low blocks and too lethargic. We need to wake the f*** up in these types of games or we are not winning this league.

He's got to have a look in the mirror here. This was absolutely unacceptable. This might be the only team in Europe who could have managed to lose to us today. The lack of urgency, spirit, impetus and respect for the game on the part of our players was absolutely disgusting, particularly for a group that claims to want to win the biggest prizes. We had better come out from minute 1 against Everton with hunger and tenacity. This cannot become a rot.

Could've been his Southampton from 22/23 season, he got lucky tonight.

Our play needs to get a lot better. We can't outplay the worst even PL team, have no intricate technical play in the middle.

Worst performance of the season for him I think but I have a bad memory

Think the set up and approach was totally wrong

Rice against static parked buses does nothing except take corners.

Ødegaard should have started with Eze and Rice one further back. We were obviously going to have loads of the ball and need tight space players. Even Nwaneri would have been good here. Rest Zubimendi FFS.

Now I think about it, Martinelli was also a terrible selection against a parked bus

Way too hesitant and didn't try and play Gyokeres in at all either through balls up to him or crosses for him to try and attack (except one and he was asleep for it).

White injury was avoidable, and I fear he might just do it to Jesus for the same reasons.

Zubi, too.

Is Nørgaard another one of Inakis sons /money laundering schemes?

We look mentally spent out there. Everyone looked scared of trying something, absolutely no one wanted to take responsibility.

Even worse, we saw a repeat of games where we had a small lead and for some reason retreated to much it let the opposition back into the game.

Time for him to wake up and and have the played wake up along with him.

He is once again showing why he can’t win trophies.

His tactics are turgid and he can’t coach any free flowing football.

He’s doing the bare minimum with by far the best squad in the league

Playing eze rcm is moronic, he literally scored a ht trick when he was given the chance to roam from the left.

Freezing out nwaneri for Ødegaard who is always toothless

Caused another injury again

Handicapped a bit with that turkey Berta signed but still should be getting much more from the attack

Arsenal Quotes

When you start supporting a football club, you don’t support it because of the trophies, or a player, or history, you support it because you found yourself somewhere there; found a place where you belong.
