Mikel Arteta: All The President’s Men

Yousif Arsenal

Was on Vinai's payroll; misses 4th place trophy 🏆
Arteta also need to stop drop deep its becoming obvious these guys can't do it specially without Gabriel even with him we let a goal in last minute against Sunderland.

We cant stay focused because we never use to it the last time we spend all game defending from start was against city away so yeah maybe keep that mid block just bring someone help defensively like "Nørgaard" maybe?

White was back on the bench in the second half, so he's probably ok but if he's out for any time, that's definitely on Mikel

We bottled it against Villa and we almost did the same again.

I have to say this isn't from the players it's from the manager.

This doesn't happen to a Klopp, Pep, Ferguson or Mourinho, Conte Team.

But it consistently happens to an Arteta team.

He's a micro manager and like most micro managers they suffer from anxiety and want to control things even more. That nervous energy feeds in to the team.

Sorry to say, but Ødegaard is the epitomise that energy on the pitch. At the end when we needed control he offered nothing.

Rice should be captain end of.

Looked like a hamstring...

You never know with Arsenal, he's just as likely to be back next week and as he is having a surprise surgery again.

If we just showed up without a manager, let the players pick the 11, and let the players choose how to play, we beat wolves 5-6 to nil.

Today, I’ll put some accountability on the manager. He has to not be predictable. He made the team nervous to fail today. Just a timid effort.

Arteta, stop reading the news and listening to pundits. Get our team ready to battle whoever wherever whenever. We should be taking to everyone for 90 minutes.

Ugh. According to arteta himself, white injury looks bad. Irresponsible to start him them when MLS was available. Or even Nørgaard as CB.

We have players like Eze, Saka, Ødegaard, Gyokeres, Martinelli, who all like space to operate and run into..

But then we put Saliba and Hincapie next to Gyokeres at times..?

We also get MLS to go central and crowd the space for Ødegaard when he came on?

I get low block sucks to play against, but the tactics of 'overloading' just causes so much traffic.

When the whole team looks bad it’s the manager.

Terrible at profiling players as well. Why tf did he make martinelli a touch line winger. Guy has some of the best movement and finishing in the league, a guy like glasner would put him at cf and make him elite.

Never gonna see a rice skelly double either which would be elite

He's not a trophy winning manager.

6 years in the job and still has shown no ability to structure a successful attack and the recruitment in that area has been terrible.

I'm getting to the point that i think he doesn't actually want great attackers as they would demand to be platformed to score goals or be given the freedom to but that might upset his obsession with control and we can't have that.

Arteta should be ashamed of himself. You have to protect your players. Everyone could see this coming. Zubimendi or Rice will be next. Yes, the back line was very makeshift for a few games but that doesn't make White expendable. He's a human being. He should have been managed better, regardless of the injury situation with other players.

He was ripping into the team for conceding the goal when the bigger issue was the fact that we were only 1-0 up from a jammy goal…

His mentality is don’t lose first, that’s not good enough for where we want to be.

Get ready for a scared performance at Everton

A bit of the problem is a lack of fullbacks who overlaps with intent. Unfortunately White went off and MLS doesn't overlap so it really limited us offensively.

Martinelli just isn't the guy to play against a low block, we needed Trossard or Noni to start this game on the left. We were much more threatening when Tross was on.

We conceded against Sunderland defending as well. For this one it’s instructions or the biggest coincidence ever that we drop deep same time every time we goal up.

Think the problem is precisely that he *wants* a very specific profile of elite attacker.

Those are either unavailable or too expensive.

It just seems that he's so hyper focused on what his ideal attack is, that he is unwilling to adapt to what he has and would instead mold players into the system and not the other way around.

It's why some of the recruitment looks so scattershot and disjointed at times.

that's what i see coming, it will be very similar to villa, we will start conservatively trying to keep the ball, Everton will try to 'get at us' and the ref will allow it, the players will get caught up in the emotion of the game and we will drop points.
