Mikel Arteta: Art Of The New Deal

They created that area for this exact reason. But they have realised managers just can’t stand there for 90 minutes and if you book them many will get sent off. Arteta takes to too far running on the touch line as well

It’s not a big deal to be fair. I remember fans having a go calling Wenger too passive cause he’d sit there in the dugout whilst his team was getting walloped.

You can’t win is what I am trying to say. Plus with Arteta it seems like an involuntary situation rather than performative.

Seriously, I have never cared or even paid attention to whether managers keep within their technical area or not. Didn't care before Arteta was a manager, didn't care after crybaby rivals started whining about him standing outside it. It doesn't actually give any meaningful unfair advantage to do it so why should I care? They only exist so the 4th official can point to something when they find a manager annoying. It's a dumb tecnhincality that makes one sound like a dork ass loser when complaining about it. 🤓

I don't think them yelling at you is worse than hiring a pickpocket to rob you.
All the things he done, is with a purpose. Making you leaving your comfort zone, learn how to adept to the situation etc. And what does old school coaches trying to teach you by yelling?

Ok but he will get bookings and suspension soon. Just don’t say it’s an agenda against Arsenal

There is absolutely no benefit whatsoever to someone stealing your wallet during dinner. Yelling at you to track your man or you won't play is probably the more one to one translation to productivity. Nobody is going to keep a ball under pressure because some bloke in Dubai took their watch while they were watching Salt Bae feed Arteta by hand.

Don't you make kids fight supervillains to fight their trauma? This is a better version of that.

It depends bro, when I was driving illegally my 360 degree awareness and perception was world class.

Next level Arteta training, special opps undercover in a repressive regime. Steal the tyrant leaders after dinner desert and piss in his underwear draw or lose your starting place. Bonus points if you do his wife and Arteta will instruct everyone to put you on in goal. We're building a special thing here people.

Bro, we used to joke about this type of stuff, but like as genuine jokes. He's actually a psychopath way more than we could've ever imagined

Wait you actually believe this? 🤣 None of this happened. We just put it out there to keep our opponents guessing. Spin them around. Wax on wax off type of stuff.

Even if it did really happen it would be the coolest thing.

We're pretty much the only big club in England without any dressing room drama. Whatever Arteta's doing, it's obviously working. The players seem to be 100% behind him.

Apparently another MA masterstroke was signing Kepa last pre season every shot on target in training was going in, gave the players a lot of confidence 9 months later PL champions!

I'll quote one of the very, very few Arsenal content creators I listen to, and one of the smartest and calmest people who speaks about Arsenal, to answer this. Clive Palmer, the OG.

Paraphrasing (because he said this, and stuff like this, when people were making fun of the lightbulbs and bad drawings era):

We have no idea what it takes to motivate and engage young men in high level sports. We don't know how these young men are, how they behave, and what they react to on a day to day, week to week and month to month basis. We see them play, and we hear snippets of them in pre/post-match. But the actual, 9-5 (ish) day to day work they do, we really only see highlights of rondos and shooting drills.

So if Arteta thinks those kinds of things are what it takes, then I'm more likely to believe it works, than call it silly, just because I don't understand it or think it looks or sounds dumb.

Ok, and you and Clive can buy into it if you'd like. My opinion won't change. I don't care if Clive thinks it has value. At no point when I've been in a leadership role have I ever needed to employ gimmicks like robbing those I'm overseeing to make them aware of their surroundings, including in sometimes dangerous laboratory and testing settings.

It's just like NBA coaches have won Championships without burning sage like Phil Jackson (one of Arteta's influences). In many cases, these things are more for the person doing them to feel like they're doing something to help(and I'm sure it's well intentioned on Arteta's part) than those who are having to participate. Anyone who has ever been forced to do any kind of team building can relate to this.

Arsenal Quotes

Religiously, it is said that God created man. I am only a guide. I allow others to express what they have in them. I have not created anything. I am a facilitator of what is beautiful in man.
