Mikel Arteta: Managerial Royalty

It's midfield and attack that is our problem. Everton are better than us in those areas, especially if your star striker isn't playing.
So honestly believe that if tomorrow we swapped Saka, Ceballos and Elneny for Sigurdsson, Davies and Doucoure, and we swapped Willian, Pepe and Nketiah/Lacazette for Richarlison, Iwobi and Calvert-Lewin would become a team capable of being 2nd (which Everton currently are)?

Willian was Chelsea’s best player post restart and was the main creator for a Chelsea side that banged in the goals.
He was the main creator? I've never viewed Willian as Chelsea's main creator ever. Missed that.

Also, Davies and Sigurdsson seem to be good enough to be chosen by Ancelotti - a manager that I've seen some on here say we should've appointed instead of Arteta.

Only Saka (and maybe Nketiah) I would regret losing. The rest are pretty **** for the level we want to be at.

Hmmm, think you overrating a lot of our players there!!
Which ones?

If tomorrow you were given the choice of swapping Pickford for Leno, would you?

If tomorrow you were given the choice of swapping of swapping Mina or Keane for Gabriel, would you?

If tomorrow you were given the choice of swapping Holgate and Godfrey for KT and AMN/Bellerin, would you?

If tomorrow you were given the choice of swapping you were given the choice of swapping Davies for Ceballos, Elneny or Willock, would you?

If tomorrow you were given the choice of swapping Sigudsson for Saka, would you?

If tomorrow you were given the choice of swapping Iwobi for Pepe, would you?

I think if you asked this to not just our fans, but football fans in general, then the majority would be picking the Arsenal players.

That's not what the point was about at all. Do you think those Everton players would drastically improve us drastically is the point.

Both bang average

If tomorrow you were given the choice of swapping of swapping Mina or Keane for Gabriel, would you?

Maybe.

If tomorrow you were given the choice of swapping Holgate and Godfrey for KT and AMN/Bellerin, would you?

Yes probably.

If tomorrow you were given the choice of swapping you were given the choice of swapping Davies for Ceballos, Elneny or Willock, would you?

No. I would take Doucoure or Allan though.

If tomorrow you were given the choice of swapping Sigudsson for Saka, would you?

No.

If tomorrow you were given the choice of swapping Iwobi for Pepe, would you?

Yes. What a farce getting rid of Iwobi for Pepe was in hindsight.

I think if you asked this to not just our fans, but football fans in general, then the majority would be picking the Arsenal players.

We've been hearing we've had fantastic transfer windows these last 2-3 years, but the results keep getting worse.. With the summer additions this year and no serious outgoings, most would have said we have improved the squad compared to previous season, yet the results keep getting worse.

what exactly points to these guys pulling off a successful rebuild?
All we said this summer is being CM CB AM and winger we got 3 but again didn't buy the most important position and is AM made it worse by not register Özil. We sold nobody we got lucky with emi because an English team want him no English team wanted Sokratis Elneny mustafi kola and rightly so.

Jesus, how can anyone in his right mind say that Arteta is the least of our problems? Isn't he the one coaching this squad, implementing drills and picking the first 11?
You'd think that the team is on auto pilot and he's just there for show by how people are cutting him slack. We haven't been this **** in 3 ****ing decades! Think about that for a second.

It is actually worse than even that. 4.5 decades. Absolutely indefensible.

Think that’s on you then. Last year he was top for Chelsea last year in terms of key passes, assists, expected assists, shot creating actions per 90 and passes into the penalty area.

So every available metric for creating basically.

Also Davies and Sigurdsson were only playing because James and Allan were injured. Arteta couldn’t get to grips with their second string midfield.

Are people stupid enough to believe what they say sometimes?

Do you really think Arteta tells Xhaka, Elneny, Holding, Willian, Laca, Nketiah and Bellerin to pass backwards or sideways? Of course not, none of these players are willing to take risks or have the ability to take risks.

Ceballos is fairly meh but the guy takes risks with his passing. Just doesn't have the quality.

Drastically? No. Improve? Yes, but more in attack than anything. I'd take Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison for sure.

Fair enough, but this is unquestionably a fringe view not only among our fans but like I said also football fans in general.

Even in terms of actual football clubs, if you told the likes of Liverpool, City, Barca, Madrid, Juve etc.. to pick which of those players they'd want then most would be picking the Arsenal players without a doubt.

I think without doubt that Bergkamp is the most talented player to have played for Arsenal in the past 30 years, for as long as I can remember
