There has always been this cloud of insincerity regarding Arteta stemming mainly from the fact that he's the first manager to have this level of undeserved patience, a streak of wins is something we have seen since he made a miraculous recovery to finish 8th on his first full season, but since this is happening right at the start apparently it means all can be forgotten.
Not forgiven as it should be if he maintains this and manages to get Arsenal not back to where it was before he rebuilt the whole squad, but a step forward (just to make all the investment make any sense), but forgotten. Also way too much is made of worthless things like the relationship with the fans and how no players complain instead of the actual football, which is also praised like revolutionary until the streak of wins end because reality is a cruel master.
I actually believe that guy that said he would instantly forget about Arteta the moment he stops being an Arsenal manager, because the support a lot of times does feel definitely forced, a lot more about I told you sos around than actual admiration or love to what is going on the pitch and at the club.
The fans usually talk about feeling optimist with the club again and seeing a way forward, even if both football and results so far have failed to clear the mark of what was already in place under the dark era before Arteta. It's probably that feeling that is leading them to think winning at any cost is fine, so as long as progress can be seen, not even in results but in throwing millions and going at it again like any oil club, everything will be alright. Arsenal used to laugh at that notion, and with very strong arguments, and the club we're foolishly pretending to emulate is proof of how little just winning matters when it comes to being a top club.
