Mikel Arteta: Everybody Hurz(eler)

Salah is an extreme outlier in terms of fitness, there are maybe a handful of attackers with his level of availability.

This year Salah has played 2304 minutes, Haaland 2213, Iwobi 2113, Semenyo 2111, Rodgers 2088, Wood 2018, Lewis Potter 2013. Then a few under 2000 minutes, like Mitoma and Cunha.

Last year Solanke (3331), Watkins and Boven all played over 3000 minutes, while Saka, Gordon, McNeil and Jackson all played a little less than 3000 minutes. Salah came in 16th (forwards only) at 2535 minutes, just behind the likes of Havertz, Haaland etc. He had a hamstring injury keeping him out between January and March.

The year before it was Kane leading the charts with 3406, then Iwobi, then Salah (3294) just before Bowen, Saka, Watkins, Toney, Son, Rashford (2888 minutes).

This list goes on every year, you can check it on the Premier League website.

Salah is not an extreme outlier.

Do Liverpool send his cousin Mahmoud Salah to play in the cups or why list only league minutes?

He's played 3130 minutes this season overall so far, 900 more than Iwobi which you've given as comparison for some reason. Not even including games for Egypt which he naturally plays 90 minutes for.

23/24 was an outlier where he got injured mid-season but before that he played 4000+ minutes for six consecutive seasons, would love to see which other forwards reach those numbers if he's not an outlier. Not even Kane who's exceptionally fit does and his game is not nearly as taxing physically as Salah's.

Everything I have said for years. Arteta has failed. The last 2/3 years of transfer windows have been poor.

Rice is the only top player he’s signed. Others have it all to prove or have gone on to be dropped.

So, there are idiots out there who think that Arteta likes that his squad has so many injuries?
Twisted logic.

Bro, what?

Who says he ‘likes injuries’?

The point you’re clearly missing is he left the squad threadbare, therefore we were left vulnerable to injuries. Therefore a problem of his own making.

Him?
Or the whole club hyerarchy, including him?
I'm sure that he doesn't negotiate with players and clubs, and that he doesn't have the wallet.
He bears some responsibility, but not total.

The more injuries we have, the more "Galaxy Brain-ing" Mikel has to do to try and fix it.

So I wonder if deep down he does enjoy all the injuries in a weird way 😅

I don't think tactics were a problem. We got into many good positions but the players really flopped today. Can't believe that performance after seeing Liverpool drop points from some of our core players like Ødegaard, Rice, Partey and Timber

Not feeling this. If we go trophy-less yet again I'm sure the owners will still stick with him though.

Not to take anything away from last season where I thought we were immaculate for large stretches right to the end.

He's had a remarkable season. Shame how the season has turned out but I am sure next season we'll be fighting again.

Continue to support this man please. Don't boo after a massive crap performance. A team which doesn't defend, has no creativity and poor attacking, even with the regular players. This team is mediocre and it was formed by Arteta. It is one of the most boring team to see I remember and it is not even close to win titles which matters.

he'll get one more year at least, no point in expecting him to be sacked unless of course he does a ten hag and goes into freefall, don't think that'll happen, ownership likes him.

Who’s fault is it this time?

Sarcastic Oc GIF

The recruitment team and whoever signed off and said they're happy with the summer business. Ultimately if Arteta had a full squad and was in this position I'd be saying it's time for him to leave.

Many thick, emotional people will be saying Arteta out and I don't think that's fair. He's bought himself another season with the injuries.

Arsenal Quotes

I was receiving offers from many other clubs and declining them all, even the most tempting ones. Juventus, Real Madrid, PSG contacted me, Bayern, France, England...I am happy to have been able to say no to more glory, more money, and to have been guided only by the idea of loyally serving the club. I had knitted myself a soul in Red and White.
