Mikel Arteta: Living the Nightmare

Should Arteta’s position as manager be under threat if we don’t win the PL or CL?

There's some top clips on that account you posted. I'd temporarily forgotten just how beautiful our football was.

Clips like this are why I am both baffled and infuriated by the disgusting comparisons between what that Fat Aussie is doing having spent 400m at the toilet bowl and what Arsène was doing here with loose change he found in his office couch. This is beautiful football. Angeball is not.

“When he calls our names
It’s like a little prayer
We are down on our knees
He will take us there”

Suggestion for new stadium chant for Arteta, thoughts? Where does it rank all time?

I’m a fan of like rotating one/two players every game (like City do) as opposed to rotating 5 players in a single game like Arteta does. Just too much disruption with that. He didn’t give Soton enough respect. This wasn’t Bolton in the Carabao…

Agree with this. Should be rotating one or two players every week instead of wholesale changes once in a while.

:lol: Bro we look like an interesting JRPG. But I'm sad Farzad's profile is now unavailable. I hope he hasn't been permabaned. I'm wondering what he's got in trouble for this time

@Farzad if reading this while banned, come back as an Islamist or an Iraqi. They'll never guess

I would be in tears if @Farzad came back as an American Karen and used every other post to rant about small business owning middle easterners in the US.

You have to give it to the hierarchy of AFC, they plucked Wenger from obscurity, everyone laughed asking who he was and then he immediately won a double and shut everyone up before producing one of the best ever EPL teams and breaking records left and right.

Then once Wenger goes they pluck Arteta from City having never managed a club before and within 3-4 years he's taken us from peak banter era to challenging 115 FC for the title.

Taking risks on talent and specifically managerial talent is ingrained in this club and we seem to get it right. Ironically, it was the proven manager Emery who didn't produce the goods.

Arteta has navigated through very bad months injury wise. Arguements that we could have been 21/21 with little luck in very difficult schedule.

Goes against the idea he can only coach 100% fit squad.
He has surprised me with the way he has navigated this tight schedule especially with the long injury list. That's was always one of my biggest criticism of him, that he can't really manage without all of his tools available. Glad to see that he's learning.

Why is Tierney listed with a hamstring injury at this stage? Long ago, some Scottish butcher chopped up both Kieran's hamstrings, minced them and sold them as sausages to the locals. They aren't coming back

That list makes for grim reading but in reality, does anyone count Tomi, Zinny and Tierney as realistic options? I don't anymore. With that in mind, only White and Ode have missed actual games so far. The real test will be this weekend with/without any core players. I hope we can manage or better still, have 3/4 main men fit to play.
