Mikel Arteta: Aston La Vista To The Title?

Tree Points

Another annoying Manc
So refs don’t impact the game at all?

we are fighting up hill against refs every game. It makes a difference.
Every team gets their fair share of bad refereeing.

Its not the ref’s fault that you didn’t score your many chances at 1-0 up. That’s bad tactics and the players making poor choices.

just a complete Strawman. Sorry your perspective can’t have any nuance.

Our tactics were fine. People think if we don’t score 3 goals, we don’t deserve to win. Great teams have scraped by in games like this plenty of times. This win was taken from us.

You need your head seen to if you think our tactics were fine.

So according to Arteta we need better quality, decision making, defending, efficiency and creativity.

Which pretty much means he’s only highlighting his own coaching incompetence.
Should have paid more attention to the red flags when he was screaming them out like a foghorn. Giving out interviews saying how much investment we need after fluking a win against Liverpool at home back in 2020. Like why would the owners take such a gamble and make such big investments with an absolute rookie in charge? He came in like he was doing the club a favor and the owners would shower him with rose petals in the summer.

it’s already been shown it happens to us much more often. Also, if you are creating so many chances, that’s not bad tactics.

Every single bad result that's happened in the last 15 months is apparently down to the players' fault. The coach is NEVER at fault
This is so ingratiating. It’s not even a case where Arteta himself passes the blame on the player but his fans will throw the team under the bus to defend Arteta. It is so strange because he is usually the first one to accept responsibility for the results yet his fans on here will say otherwise.

Not only is he going to cost the club the European football money but he also ruined easily over 100 million worth of players by alienating Özil, Guendouzi, Saliba and possibly even Pepe.

We have one more point at this stage than last season after adding Partey, Ødegaard and integrating ESR with an improved Saka

Willian will be the death of Arteta. You can tell he's made Willian his personal project. Why didn't he start Pepe today?

It's not like Pepe was going to start in mid-week, was he?

It was annoying when he bought Willian and benched Pepe before a ball had even been kicked this season but we got used to it, and over time accepted it.

Now Pepe is literally doing everything he can, his current form would have him starting at any of our rivals and he's still benched for Willian. It's becoming inexcusable for even the biggest Arteta fan now.

Just to talk about something different, our clean sheets properly disappeared now. The 0-0 vs United is the only game we had a clean sheet, and that's because Cavani fortunately missed a couple of sitters.

It gives them the reason to all of those who claimed back then the only reason we were defensively strong was because we were just playing cowardly. Now that maybe out of necessity we have opened up and decided to try to impose ourselves a bit more we are conceding pretty much every game

Form wise we remain midtable anyway, no matter what approach we use. Considering Arteta has the whole squad at his disposal now and an in form Aubameyang, it's pretty damning

Why didn’t Pepe put the ball in the back of the net from 6 yards with the goal gaping?

Because he’s a clown that’s why.

We're ~70% into the season and we're firmly rooted in 10th with virtually more or less no hope of finishing any higher and a more than realistic chance of finishing bottom half due to the fact of our remaining games nearly half are against top 8/fighting for Champions League places.

We're out of both domestic cup competitions and whatever EXTREMELY slim chance we have of salvaging this season rests on a rolling game by game basis in the EL.

People want to act like we've "turned a corner" but since the half way point of the season we've W4 L3 D3 in the PL, and 6 of those we're against teams in the bottom half. Yes it's an "improvement" on outright completely sackable relegation form we were showing prior to that, but if that's the only requirement, to preform better than "relegation form" then I'm speechless.
