Mikel Arteta: Aston La Vista To The Title?

FIFA and the Prem are bluffers IMO. Who wants to watch the prem with Shane Longstaff as an elite midfielder. Ings as the best striker haha. More importantly what is a World Cup without the elite talents that will be playing in the ESL. There’s a reason Nike & Adidas adverts don’t have Ings & Longstaff as poster boys. FIFA & UEFA are just waiting for their bribe under the table. Once FIFA then UEFA bend the knee, the Prem and other leagues have no choice but to follow or face financial destruction. People will exclusively tune into ESL as well as the national team competitions if they purposely exclude all the quality players.

Did people actually think anyone from top to bottom of this sport cares about the fans? Bet you think a former player not celebrating scoring against their old club is 'class' as well and not carefully curated PR. They all live in a completely different world to the average fan. Time to embrace it, this was inevitable.

   I'm really having a laugh reading the comments on here. Most fans were moaning about playing so called farmers in the UEL and begging for us to be back in the Champions League and now we have the opportunity to watch us play week in week out against Europe's best, fans don't want it!!! You really can't win with our fan base...:lol:
We were begging to progress as a club and earn the right to play those matches again. Not get given a free pass just because Barcelona and Madrid need a few teams to make up the numbers.

A united fan living in India wasn't going to games 100 years ago. He most certainly wasn't mourning the tragic Busby babes. He hasn't grew up with that cultural identity to the club. He probably doesn't even know who Bobby Charlton or George best was. And while sport is for everyone and is inclusive to think that the people of Manchester and surrounding areas don't matter, people who have been going and paying for 50 years to matches, who have raised their kids and grandkids to follow the club because some fans want to watch United v Juve or Real every week is a joke.

Again, you're assuming this is a minority. It is the home fans who are a minority. I agree with you and everything you've said there, but that period is long since over. It was, in all honesty, and its painful to say this, over after hilsborough.

Football had to be rescued from disrepute, and American sports did that admirably enough for many fans for a long while. It's only now that people see that the contradiction does not hold.

But even back in the day this was germinating. Real Madrid supporters all over middle east and north africa, Latin America, etc... Cockney reds. What business does a Londoner have supporting Liverpool and United? Yet many did. My uncle was a scouser in 80s Istanbul.

We have so many disgusting fans, really.
Elite?
It would be as Elite as you thinking you are Elite because your parents can buy you a spot somewhere.

Hunta, you are probably one of the worst people in the world, im certain of that.

Holy **** how many asshole fans we have, people are the worst.
Think this is incredible, UEFA have disgraced Arsenal for decades, we’ve become a nothing club and our great owner has now taken things into his own hands and made us ELITE again.

£200m budget MINIMUM according to my sources.

Yeah, because it would mean that we were fighting up on the table and not at 10th. It would've meant we did something to earn it.

Fans want to see the club progress and this is just saying the ball is yours and taking it home after your mate's little brother nutmegs you twice.

Don't know what you're saying, mate.

@Hunta actually has sources with the club. He's a journo and broke so many stories, the stuff he posts in the Trusted Forums is jaw dropping. Don't shoot the messenger.

People dont really get the difference between progress and improvement than just being a spoiled little boy who gets a toy they dont deserve.
Hope that if Arsenal plays that league they loose every game and hopefully shame themselves to death.

Those little clubs in Leicester and Villa can get back in their little boxes and watch THE Arsenal represent them in the biggest league ever seen in world sport.

Can only thank Senior Florentino Perez for such a stunning creation, having nachos for dinner to celebrate.

If the ESL has all the best players in it, of course kids will grow up wanting to win it.

If this happens and becomes the biggest comp in football, why will kids being born a few years from now want to win the Champions League when nobody good is in it

A league that you can’t get relegated from, locks out everyone else, destroys European football and what we love and grew up with, and makes you and your mates massive cash with no competition.

Stan doesn’t even go to games.

The more you think about it, there is nothing more disgusting and embarrassing than this.

You’ll have to be a child or a total inbred to support this.

Not sure how the new generation of fans will look at this. Most fans nowadays don't feel the magic of the FA cup like 'legacy fans' do. It's just an annoying cup competition. Think they will look back on today's football like that.

At least we have great memories we can reminisce over with our pals in the retirement home zoom calls.

The only way FIFA can win this is if it treats the ESL like outcasts.

Most of these clubs will have players slipping through the net from their own academies. Football is too global a sport to condense into 12 teams.

If the ESL can’t bring in temporary members it will have to bring them in permanently and that just waters down the product even more.
I get you, but:

1. Money, power and influence will see FIFA compromise at some stage. if the ESL clubs have the financial war chest they think they have, it's just a matter of time

2. What will happen is that the cream of players will be concentrated at these clubs. Of course, some talent will slip from time to time, but again money will dictate eventual player destination. It's basically how it plays out currently
