It's a philosophical discussion.

Makingtrax inferred that he would have been happy to take Roman's money, stolen from the Russian people, and make our Club into a red and white version of the Chelsea rent boys.

I read that, and wondered how much money it would take for Makingtrax to prostitute himself, seeing as he was very willing to see Arsenal do that.

Most people say 'Not for all the tea in china', or something. lol.
Just wondered though, really, how much it would take.
Between @Jury and @Vicki you’ve turned this thread into Saturday Porn Club. I’m not bothered who Arteta works for, as long as he goes and makes his mistakes at a less high profile club and we get someone who can take us back to top 4 where we belong.

Oh, and gets us playing some entertaining football again.

She/he started it. It was a bit early for all that caper tbh. I normally need a coffee first.

We can harp on about how good bad Arteta is, or Ole is, or Ancelotti is or Mourinho is (when he was at Sp**s) but when you’ve got oil and state run clubs like Chelsea and Man City just spending what they want, when they want - then forget competing. The playing field isn’t level. Arsenal and United generate a f**k ton of their own cash. We have huge followings all over the world.

But Arteta and to an extent Ole will never be allowed to succeed, regardless of how good/bad they are as managers - because they don’t have the access to the finances that Pep and Tuchel have.

So many people say - but you spent £85m on Harry Maguire! Utd spend loads of money! But we also have to sell players. Last summer the Glazers told Ole that unless we sell some players then Sancho isn’t happening. And guess what? We didn’t sell enough players.

Pep just clicks his fingers and gets a new defender whenever he wants it. “Yeah I don’t like Laporte anymore, get me Ruben Dias.” And they get him.

How do the real clubs compete with that? We don’t. Sure, you will get a world class manager like Klopp winning the league but that’s the exception not the rule. Until we get new owners, both Arsenal and Utd, we aren’t winning the league again.

What the hell are you on about? Your clubs spent over a billion pounds on footballers since Alex Ferguson left. @Tree Points honestly we aren't even in your zone in terms of spend. You're up there with City and Chelsea. Just because you've spent it horrifically and your club is terrible at making decisions doesn't mean you have to lump us in with you lot.

If United had owners who put nothing in but also took nothing out, you guys would be able to spend £300m a summer. I have nothing against United when it comes to spending, you’ve earned the right.

The spend to assemble your squad is City, Chelsea level. We’re a level below that alongside Sp**s, and Everton. Not sure you’ve got the right idea.

You cannot say man utd cannot win the epl because of oil clubs when Liverpool and LEICESTER have won the epl in the past 6 seasons.

One thing both Liverpool and Leicester had in common was that they both kept their first 11 injury free for the whole season, and that makes a huge difference.
Arsenal cannot keep the whole first 11 injury free for a month, so that is a bigger issue.
You just know kante, mahrez etc would be on the treatment table if arsenal had picked them up early from France.(and 20 years ago arsenal would have spotted them first).

Nothing Wrong With Me
I'm not one to praise Arteta for anything but I've just realised we finished last season with 56 pts and GD 8. We're currently on 55 pts GD 12 with 2 games to play. After such an horrendous season how can we end up better than last season 🤔

Absolutely right. Only the very richest clubs that have strong benches can withstand injuries to their best players, which is one of the big reasons that squad cost counts. So few people seem to really understand football.

2015/16 Arsenal’s injuries were horrendous, how Arsène got us 2nd is just incredible. The gnashing of teeth that he missed a golden opportunity was laughable.

Yeah, I remember it well, the Talk Sport and AFTV narrative . . . Klopp, Poch, LVG Pelligrini, Mourinho all had problems apparently ( the latter two of their own making but that didn’t count) and all our injuries were just an excuse.

71 points is a tally worthy of 4th not 2nd. He didn't do incredible to come 2nd that year, he just did what he does every year no matter what squad he had. We lost 7 games that season and came 2nd ffs.

You know why we didn't win the title that year? Because Wenger became a failure in big away games. We had just beaten Leicester 2-1... title charge was ON. We had the momentum. Next game? United away at Old Trafford. Against one of the worst united sides we've ever seen, and they ****ing beat us. We then lose 2-1 at home to Swansea before drawing away at Sp**s. Title challenge over.

If you think that is incredible you need to get your head out of the clouds and actually take yourself back to that time. Because it was a complete flop of a season.
