Mikel Arteta: Top Of The Klopps

We’re all different bro, but I’ll support Tets when I see that either he can use his defensive tactics to keep out a decent team, or he can create goals from open play in a concerted attack. At the moment he can’t do either.
Ok he has not managed it this season yet but you choose to conveniently forget that he beat Man City & Chelsea to win the Fa Cup & last season beat Chelsea home & away so he has done it.
Anyhow Im glad to put you right & now have u firmly aboard the Arteta train.:bye: :D

The FA cup final was like 18 months ago? And our last game against Chelsea is more interesting than the game before that basically was a friendly.

If anything it just shows decline, from being able to get a convincing win against City and a (very lucky) win against Chelsea in the cup with the resources available at the moment, to get some very unconvincing wins on the next league season, and then to just get easily spanked after spending 100M+ to "improve" the defense.

Aren't Brighton supposed to be the xG and chances created dons, what happened to them?

Guess when you lose Welbeck, it's basically like losing Messi, to be fair to them.

Judging by most the posts on here recently you'd think we were in the lower mid table / relegation places, not 5th.

Valuing predictive data over actual real life results etc.

We've lost one game in eleven. Things aren't as bad as people on here want to make out.

Arteta talks up our next opponents Newcastle. Causes outrage on here. Or you know, he's doing his job and trying to stop his players getting complacent when coming up against a poor side.
It’s not really predictive data at this point. Everybody is talking about is how poor the attack is, whether you wanna use your eyes, our goal difference or stats like xG it’s just bad.

I understand we’re 5th as things stand but almost anyone would conclude we won’t be there for long if things don’t change. I do think we’ll finish in the top 8 for sure, our defence seems quite good but our attack is terrible.

So what if the Fa cup final was 18 months ago Arteta was at the helm & we won it! Do people forget that even under wenger we went almost 10 years without any silverware?

Oh I see so you only want to choose the one where we were struggling with injuries & Covid?

Yeah we lost 2-0 it can happen when you have to field an under strength team & come up against the European Champions who have added a rampant Lukaku.
Go figure

That game is more relevant than the friendly we won through pure luck.

He really needs a good win and performance tomorrow.

We have done well recently, but our season could still go very wrong if we don't keep improving...we need to get these stats looking better for us.

I'm still not 100% certain what Arteta's football philosophy is. Either the players aren't good enough to execute it or he's not communicating his plans properly.

Because United, Sp**s and Leicester have underperformed.

The former two subsequently changing their managers in recent times.

Still feel we can finish ahead of all those teams, though improvement is needed on our part.

The only team we're finishing ahead of is probably Leicester and that's due to the fact that they have problems of their own.

Will be very annoyed if we don't end the recent few seasons of finishing below Sp**s, this year.

While United have some great individual players, as a team they are kinda all over the place... don't think they can address that until the summer transfer window, new manager or not.

Feel our team is definitely good enough to get 4th this season, we have some very good players... don't think we should just give up on Champions League.

Why is it relevant that Arteta is young?
Because he is learning his trade & in his 1st management job.
He should improve as a manager, just as young players also should improve as footballers.
Going with youth in the dugout/on the pitch is likely going to take more time.
The club made the decision to go down that route.
