'If you were already concerned about the absence of a coherent strategy for Arsenal’s attack, then their performance in this 2-1 away loss to Everton will have confirmed some of your fears.'

Hey, I'm thinking he's seeing the light, until he spins it that Arteta hasn't been able to buy any strikers of the right type to suit his style of play and suggest a player like Calvert Lewin would be more suitable.

'Stylistically, he is a very different player to either Aubameyang or Lacazette: of his 43 Premier League goals to date, almost half (18 goals — 42 per cent) have been headers. He would offer Arsenal the focal point they frequently lack.'

Get your cheque book out Stan Arteta's PR team is trying to suck you in again.

That does nothing about changing the strategy by the way. All that does is give you someone to aim the ball at in the box. The style doesn’t change. It will still be slow, clueless build up play with Tierney crossing it into the box.

One day these guys might finally understand the players aren’t the problem. Remember when Ødegaard was going to be the creative force to help us unlock defences? We can’t even get the ball to him in the final third of the pitch and when we do his only option is pass it out wide. Sick of it.

 Just laughing at the fact that the only thing The Athletic have to cling on to now is a new striker being the key to unlocking Arteta’s attacking strategy. They’ve worked their were through the excuses handbook at this point.

He has ruined one of the best goalscorers in Europe but he needs £70m to buy a target man to make everything click and get on the end of some crosses.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

The fact that chance creation is still at poverty levels is the giant elephant in the room.
