One thing I am confident with is we won't bring in the wrong players. The money we've spent has gone on Gabriel and Partey, two excellent signings.

None of these guys have proven to be excellent signings so far.

Does he bang the missus and just live his life like everyday people, cut the lawn, goes for leisurely drives in his 911, or is he just seething in his office drawing up tactics and banging his head against the wall?

Not a very convincing counter. Our squad was bloated with **** players. Just because we're thin at midfield and LB/RB doesn't mean we didn't have a lot of **** central defenders that needed to be offloaded, etc. He also did not expect the situation between Özil and the club to cause him to lose his best AM. The depth the manager thought we had turned out to be fools gold. We're still waiting to see players like Nelson to put in a good performance, btw.

Depth and quality are two different things. You said we didn’t have depth. We clearly did. Now you’re saying there was depth but it was filled with poor players That’s a different argument.

If it turns out that way, then yes, it would have been a waste. But then you can say every season where we haven’t won anything and haven’t progressed as a team is a ‘waste’... In which case we’ve wasted many years since 2004. At least this time we have at least two youngsters from the academy sure to be bedrocks of the team for the foreseeable future.

Unfortunately we’re in such a bad position this season that I don’t see it as a risk worth taking to keep faith in a manager who’s clearly failing at his job. He’s given us very little to look forward to.That’s just how I honestly feel about it.

I’m not sure there are many buses out of the ****hole that we should be overly keen to jump on though. That’s how I see it.

We can’t deny that these are very strange times and while part of me wants us to move forward and if need be, sack Mikel for a poor finish in the league and a EL failure, a smaller part of me wants to see if a those things I mentioned earlier can have a positive effect. A lot can change for the better or worse in not much time in this game. I just really want to see fans in the stadium to get a good idea of where we are. I think it’s significant. How weird would it be for a manager to come and go with no fans in the stadium?

It’s not the squad’s fault bro. There’s some top players in there, they just don’t know what they’re doing and some of them have been humiliated in public and others have just been playing a bit part and can’t get into their stride.

Most people want a new centre back, new centre midfielders, new right back and new strikers. If you follow that to its natural conclusion its saying the squad isn't good enough. If it were then we wouldn't have an extensive list of positions that need improving.

I accept there is an issue with players not getting into their stride. That was the premise of my post. Arteta doesn't yet know his best XI.

Nonsense. Arsène would have this side top 4 and Unai was only one point of top 4 with Sokratis, Mustafi, Torreira, Guendouzi, Özil and Kolasinac, all of whom have been upgraded. Hell Moyes is top 4 with a squad not nearly as good.

If the whole team is out of form, then you blame the Manager. Simple as that.

We don’t need to overrate our players to justify Arteta’s tactics has problems. We all know that there are flaws in his tactics. But there players are equally shxt at the same time.

We went from having a team of Van Persie, Fabregas, Hleb, Rosicky, Nasri, Arshavin.....to just left with Sanchez and Cazorla, and then now, with no one good enough. Auba and Laca has been fxxking jokes, anyone who has watched football for more than two seconds knew they were shxt.

Was over the moon when we finally get rid of shxt like walcott, ramsey, giroud, chamberlain....but we get in limited players like Özil, Auba and Laca, who are only good at making the final pass/final finish but doing nothing for the whole match.

People who thought they were good strikers/players are fools, they are levels and levels below Benzema, Suarez, Firmino......

Anyway, I’m glad these type of players will all be gone in the near future. I have been waiting for years.

Yeah that time when there were planes, booing etc and the man finished a couple points off top 4.

Wenger without fan pressure would easily have this team in top 4 and not complaining about not having players who are good enough.

22 years with sub par squads and investment.

Emery did better than Arteta, Wenger would have done significantly better than both. Were not even in the top 10 and people making excuses when Wenger was hanged over missing out on his own consistency.
