Mikel Arteta: New Contract Signed

El Duderino

That's, like, your opinion, man.

Maybe this sounds naive, but I think it would be too much, even for FA.
To punish Everton properly for 1 FFP breach, and possibly to slap City on the wrist for potential 115 breaches.

It would completely destroy any hint of fairness and same standards for all in PL.

As long as Pep/Haland are here, those charges aren't sticking. The only small reason to be positive here is that they can't appeal whatever decision they get like they did with their recent overturned ban.

Any "integrity" was out the window with Chelsea, compounded with City and now made a bigger mockery with Newcastle.

Arteta felt justified in that moment and has held his tongue for a while with the accumulation of shambolic VAR decisions. He also knew the “rules” of speaking out and the possible consequences. I fully back his comments and the timing of them. I would have done the same. Now he could be punished for being correct, which is even more embarrassing for the FA.

His comments didn’t target any specific official and they were not detrimental to the game. His intentions were to improve the game and he should be commended for speaking out so progress can be made.

I'll take the performance they served but with wins this time round.

That match was a proper kick to the delicate areas, ffs.

Was still lamenting the replay of Martinelli's open goal miss v City, only for it to cut back to Gabriel immediately getting a second yellow...why always Arsenal 😭

Listen to this answer, bring him home. (Skip to minute 13)

I dont even have to skip to 13 mins to know what u are referring to in the interview. It pricked up my ears at the time of listening. I agree with fabregas, we need to see more managers who are capable of building game plans around the skills/capabilitIes they have in their side as opposed to having to rip up sides to suit their plan. #PL privilege

That city game they were in charge was close to the best we have played.

Ideas are nice but let’s see Cesc put it to action in the 2nd division of Italy first.

I remember the crap Arteta was talking too, which ended up not all being totally crap. He did say he wanted a dominant team completely committed to him, but it took him years to get there.

Cesc part owns Como too, so will be interesting. I’d have assumed conflict of interest there unless it’s more common than I assumed.

It was the part about football being robotic, players not enjoying themselves on the pitch. He’s bang on. But as Macho says, it’ll be interesting to see if the whole ‘back seat’ manager style will work.

Reality is that’s not the game anymore and it won’t get you far.

You reckon players enjoy titles more or enjoy step overs? Games changing.
Can’t speak for players, but as a fan, I enjoy watching good football week in week out over trophies. I know I might be in the minority here. If you can nail both, well then that is ideal.

Also, Cesc isn’t talking about flair, he’s talking about freedom to move, have a sense of where to be, not afraid to step out of your ‘zone’. Play more instinctively.

Arsenal Quotes

Arsenal was firmly embedded in the local community and had a very solid, working-class foundations. The fans espoused the club's values. This visceral attachment, from childhood, to a club and a team is something I have never seen anywhere else with such fervour. Every fan's first match at Highbury was like a baptism.
