Mikel Arteta: New Contract Signed

How many of you are continuing with the Arteta Hokey Cokey tonight then?

Lol nobody has even said anything in here yet.

Anyway, we've been excellent in 2024 (bar Porto) and I think full credit goes to Arteta for that.

The changes made with Trossard & Havertz were fantastic and we've looked offensively potent whilst dominating. Sensational. Long may it continue.

Pleased for him with this result. Took a lot of crap from the biased media after the reverse fixture simply for speaking out against disgraceful officiating. This win will taste very sweet to him I bet.

Turns up only when we lose
As @El Duderino said, Trossard is a streaky player who goes hot and cold, needs to be managed, he doesn't do good as a starter LW but better as a sub (think of Everton when Nelli got injured) or Sheffield united (5-0), etc.. also him false 9 in Europe does not work as he get's physically outmatched but he was good in midfield vs Barcelona (however they had illness and late camp tax).

Regarding NKETIAH and Nelson, I feel we get hit bad when both come on at the same time, we can deal with 1 in the lineup but two feels far too negative as both are lackadaisical and know they're squad players.

Just 12 league games left, 3 games until the next international break and a nice 8 day rest until we play Sheffield United.

After that international break we have City away. We’ll be there.

This I think is what I hoped we would do, replicating City in the sense of trying to integrate some new ideas, treading water though the growing pains of that implementation to a certain point of the season and then going on a dominant run once those ideas were properly integrated. He still really has to beat Porto and advance but domestically there is pretty much nothing to fault at present. As good a start to the year as we could ever have hoped for.

You know for a side without a real recognised goal scorer, we're quite good at scoring goals

I've just had a look and the most we've scored in a PL season is 87 goals in 04/05.

We're on 62 with 12 games to go. There's a chance we break that record this season.

Mikel… Is this real?

He's gotten Lampard sacked, gotten Ole sacked, gotten Conte sacked and I feel Howe's time will be ending soon now too after that BATTERING!

He just takes other manager's souls and lives forever...he's good people he's my kinda people 😍

One positive thing i gotta say about arteta is his ability to motivate the team for revenge. Generally when we have been ****ed over by a team in a previous match, the next reault against them will be good these days.

Maybe city last yr was the exception, but generally if there is a level of contraversy or embarrasment with a previous game, he seems to be able to use that to motivate the team.

That’s 25 goals for and 3 conceded across the last 6 games.

We are inarguably on a great run in the premier league lol 😂

Enjoy it.

Let's go through some very basic questions you could have asked yourself before asking me this silly question. Is 3rd an objectively bettter or worse position than 1st? Is it a better position to be level in the 1st leg of a knockout tie or trailing? By the way, the answers to these 2 questions are both 'inarguable' which is the word you meant to use above. Had you just done this basic exercise before typing, you could have saved us both some time. Hope this helps.

That's, like, your opinion, man.

The best thing about today is that we bounced back from Porto.

Next big worry, other than the CL, is how we fare after the International Break both form and injury wise.

Hopefully we can finish the league with this kind of form in play and scoring sustained. Would be pretty happy with that.

Arsenal Quotes

A team can attack for too long. The most opportune time for scoring is immediately after repelling an attack, because opponents are then strung out in the wrong half of the field. All the men are expected to play to plan, but not so as to stifle individuality
