Mikel Arteta: The Real Deal

Should Arteta’s position as manager be under threat if we don’t win the PL or CL?

Imagine saying Ten Haag is a better manager than Arteta.

Just look at each team’s performances today.

Its what killed me tbh. People on here are not observing correctly. Are not being fair and not even trying to be positive and fan like of the club.

We havent seen the club at this level since last decade and its first time since then when we have a actual chance of big silverware in next few years. But very few are enjoying the ride sadly.

Say's the guy who was caught wishlisting Mourinho and Howe. You are unqualified to be gatekeeping the Arsenal fandom unfortunately for you.
Never ever afraid to man up to my mistakes.

This Arteta hate is absolutely boring at this stage.

Not all to my tastes, but Mikel has built something special here has to be said.

Where's the hate? 🥴

Havertz and many other things are not to my tastes. This is what makes rating the movement so difficult btw, you can't even say fair play without these Arteta jobsworths.

That’s 25 goals for and 3 conceded across the last 6 games.

We are inarguably on a great run in the premier league lol 😂

Enjoy it.
Do you feel that the result today changed the silly nature of your question? It did not. Despite the good vibes of today, we remain inarguably in a worse position in the table and after the first leg of our Knockout tie. I have the benefit of both enjoying our run in the league and understanding what words mean. When you master the latter, you'll get the full experience.

The best thing about today is that we bounced back from Porto.

Next big worry, other than the CL, is how we fare after the International Break both form and injury wise.

Hopefully we can finish the league with this kind of form in play and scoring sustained. Would be pretty happy with that.
If we can win at the Etihad and away to the Spuds, I think we can win the league. 6 points from those fixtures feels like it should be enough as long as there are no more blips in the matches we're heavily favored in.

He has added some unpredictability to his game.

Players can’t read if he’s gonna get a shot away with his left or right as he is judiciously mixing it up. The shot today off his right was a carbon copy of the Burnley goal and Karius did well to save it. His goal today was just top class.

We can win the PL this year.

Forget about CL. We'll get there at some point. If we advance great. If not, don't really care this year. lol

Want the PL, especially after last year.

I agree. It’s gonna be tough with Citeh and Pool winning on a weekly basis but anything can happen. As long as we are there and competing at the end of the year I’ll be satisfied.

This is why I’ve continued to say context is so important with regards to sacking the manager.

If we were in a top 4 race and Liverpool/city were just pulling away then huge argument for Mikel to be sacked in the summer.

However, I don’t believe we could replace him with anyone better. That’s facts.

Seems to have unlocked something in how he motivates the team to keep pushing for goals. He's always said he didn't want the players to sit back while ahead but that hasn't manifested on the pitch, which was a big and fair criticism of him.

Think it's stuff like this that will improve over time with such a young inexperienced manager. You can have all the knowledge in the world but if you cannot convey that to your players it's mostly irrelevant. I think that's something many people can relate to in their own line of work as well.

There's a real sense of positive arrogance towards the opposition right now which hasn't been there before. Used to be this weird sense of humbleness about how you play, almost like the team couldn't believe they were ahead and started defending like a mid-table club who'd stolen a goal against top opposition.

I think the CL is easier to win this season.

I'd love to win both and do think we can. But if I had a choice this year, it has to be the Champions League.
