Mikel Arteta: The Real Deal

Should Arteta’s position as manager be under threat if we don’t win the PL or CL?

We literally only have 4 injuries. Why people going on as if we have 10 players out?

It could be worse on the injury front next season.

There’s a difference between Tierney being injured and Saka being injured.
Just like for other elite teams like if Rodri is injured vs Foden. Or Nunez vs Salah….

I think/hope he’s been humbled and/or learned some lessons.

Think about it. He started his career with clinical finishers in Auba, Laca (and Pepe) and then followed up that with Jesus defying his reputation as a poor finisher for a year. In that same year we somehow had Xhaka, Ode and Nelli all have career years in front of goal. Just as you think his luck is about to run out we sign another notoriously poor finisher in Havertz who yet again defies history and has a great year in front of goal.

It’s not been sustainable and with things reverting to the mean I think he’s realised that he can’t continue like this or maybe he always knew and was just prioritising other areas while waiting for his luck to run out. Idk.

He’s definitely realised he needs better finishers, but I’m hoping he realises that he needs to enable his attackers a bit more too.

I think it’s more tactics that get me frustrated these days (before any of the stans come marching in and twist this to say I’m throwing shade at the tactics during his time here, I’m not) than profiles per se. Quality wise, the team is pretty decent tbf but his pragmatic approach when we’re 1-0 up, have 10 men vs average teams like Bournemouth, Brighton etc and he resorts to throwing on a CB instead of trying to win the game - I didn’t mention City at The Etihad as that’s normal to set up in that manner but against the mid-table teams then why not try to win the game. We’re more than capable of doing so.

Generally everything has become so stale since those tweaks in 22/23 hence why I’m very sceptical whether there will be a massive shift to what we’re doing currently.

I think it was worth playing him against PSV but I wouldn't pin your hopes on a 22 year-old who didn't score for league 1 Cheltenham last season. He is probably a Conference level talent.
But it's for resting players. Our already tiny attack needs rest. Imagine he subs in Trossard in that game and he got an injury for no reason. When you have a short squad you use players you wouldn't specially when circumstances like that allow it. Is to keep players fresh and don't risk them.

I might do my hamstring too
I have to say today I didn't even remember Arsenal playing. I did keep sleeping on my bed enjoying the morning Sunday. I honestly feel better. I think watching *********** football is sicking us. Since PL is over (yes @HagnSprayGooners we won't catch Liverpool even if you keep dancing in your garden under the moon) I think we can enjoy weekends again.

To be fair we just fans we gonna show up every game if we don't have emergency matters or work lol. Football this year not been fun but with right players in attack things will get better imo. Arteta can't keep ignoring this fact it's hurting he need to upgrade the attack like he upgrade our defense

Few posts ago I clearly said the media but you do you

@Red London what you explained is exactly what me and Trilly said previously, we are getting memed and laughed at more now because we are relevant. We were irrelevant previously. The original post was in reply to something else and you have taken in out of context. I agree with your post here.

What media outlet is meming and laughing at us?

I hope he has learned to value attackers. Can’t expect Jesus/Havertz to bring us trophies.

Arsenal Quotes

In a football match anything can happen, the players, 90 minutes, fantastic moves, an element of luck, talent, courage, and touch of magic and, for those who are watching these men play, the search for excitement, for a memory, for a lesson in life.
