Mikel Arteta: Top Drawer

Should Arteta’s position as manager be under threat if we don’t win the PL or CL?

How many iterations of 'his' Arsenal team must Arteta be allowed to try out under the heading 'Trust the Process' before we see exciting football and the odd trophy. And this year was regression.
The goal posts keep moving but without doubt next season is the final phase of "the process". The problem with a manager and his own peculiar iterations is that when he leaves, the next man inherits a squad that can only play well for him-look at Foden. Graham/Wenger templates are fine- a commanding GK, strong defence, tenacity and craft in midfield and actual CF's. No need to pretend to reinvent the wheel.

Emery never had an opportunity to peak. I don’t even support him staying either.
I get your point but that was on him. Had he progressed the year after he'd be still coach and could have showed his peak perhaps. But, he didn't. He dropped to 11th and lost the dressing room etc etc.

Yeah the rose-tinted nostalgia people have just shows the fallacy of the human mind. People need to read 'Thinking Fast and Slow' by Daniel Kahneman.

Same with the envy lens people view opposition players with, when if they actually watched them week in week out, they would get just as frustrated as they do with some of our own.

Your posts are usually silly but they've been an extra layer of dumb recently.

I do actually like the thought of Wilshere being on the sidelines for a North London derby to be honest, if we thought Mikel was emotional during games 😅

I know you don't like Emery, but come on? Again, I didn't want Emery to stay. But you aren't being honest.

Phase 6- We're in the Endgame now.

"Go directly to the next season...DO pass trophies, do not spend about £200 million in the summer (unless it's on defenders)"

This run feels like a fever dream, like how was not sacked? Swear managers of relegation threatened sides get sacked for this type of run.

I almost have no recollection of most of this, I remember the Villa game and I remember Arteta pushing Partey onto the pitch in the NLD. The rest is just a blur.

No fans at the stadium at the time to pile pressure on the Kroenkes.

I think COVID as a whole, in terms of the financial hit clubs took also played a role so they didn't want to be paying Arteta to sack him and didn't want to pay to bring in a new manager. It was the definition of a free hit season.

Because the grown ups made the decision and it paid off.

Ten Haf and Ange got a lot of sympathy on here for less injury crisis last year.

With second place and two semi finals after all is said and done regarding injuries and unfair red cards we say the boys and manager reset in June and go again next season!

Klopp had a title competing squad lost VVD and finished 6th.

Arsenal Quotes

I want a fan to wake up in the morning and say, “Arsenal are playing today, I’m going to have a good time.” That guy starts his day off by thinking that something good is going to happen to him. And to do that, big clubs like Arsenal have to have the ambition to play spectacularly. Of shared happiness.
