I don’t think he would be a “good transfer” - like I’d be disappointed if we got him this summer.

But in the context of just how severe our frontline injury crisis was I just didn’t see any other option but to get him.

Merino's about Lee Chapman, maybe Bendtner level but doesn't even pretend to be a CF. Nonetheless, Merino can actually finish, unlike our actual centre forward.

Injuries usually lead to more injuries because even the non injured players have to increase their playing time though I agree we should have a look so that our key players are not out for months this time.

Said injuries basically killed our season as well as the clubs negligence in the transfer markets.

I think even Arteta’s biggest supporters would concede he’s got to win something next year.
