Mikel Arteta: Aston La Vista To The Title?

Pepe needs to play. If he's going to be the player we need him to be. He needs a run of games. It's not like he's been piss poor. At times he's looked the real deal with some sun optimal end product. Been robbed of some penalties too.
Id agree, I think hes good enough to deserve his position most days. Just ignore the price tag and look at him separate from that. Hes decent to good and should realistically be in that position for the next few years.

I won't read too much into the Pepe not starting the City game, he was starting before the break and playing well also. Guess we'll know more saturday.

We boast about having a talented young CB in Saliba but he is playing next to clowns next season.

Honestly, sign 2 CB’s this summer and start fresh next season.

Is all this Arteta love for Luiz worth it for another 12 months of Luiz?

It’s not like Arteta is defending a young player, he’s going to war for a guy who has only 12 months left in him.

Luiz is 34 next season. Most red cards, penalties, and errors leading to goals. You use every excuse to drive him out of the club at the first opportunity.

What could be happening here is that Raul will use another 6 M of club's money to pay Kia for 1 more year of Luiz. Kia will then pay Raul 500k, Edu 500k, and Arteta 500k back under the table.

Are people expecting Arteta to turn on Luiz in a press conference?

Squad is in a disarray and the last thing we need is an open feud between the manager and one of the senior players.

Let his renewal (rather hopefully the lack thereof), do the talking.

Ffs. Yes blame the coach. Makes sense right now when a single one of our deli of unreliable players ****s themselves yet again, its a veritable pick and mix of players who cannot be relied on at this club for one reason or another. Arteta has to publicly back every one of his players (even if their behaviour and performances are untenable) heaven knows he isnt my first choice or even 2nd as Arsenal manager but a brutal clear out of players is needed before anyone can start judging him or anyone else for that matter, including emery.

Mikel is trying to make the best out of a very bad hand...he won't get great players in, he won't have a lot of money to spend (as we have a terrible owner, and wasted plenty the last few years), we can't sell/replace everyone (even though that would be amazing) and even if you could, no one will buy all our terrible players anyway.

But of course the usual suspects turn on the manager the minute things go wrong, not surprising...
