With young players you always have risk, there is no guarantee that he will succeed in PL. Sp**s have got him with option to buy for 50m. I don't think we need another project at this point of time. We need to start winning trophies before this team starts breaking down.

My understanding is that they offered Watkins for 60m pounds before they have received offer for Duran.
It's not clear what happened after they have received offer for Duran, maybe they wouldn't want to sell him at all or they would want more than 60m.

Don`t you know? He will get replaced easily by a coach who will spend very little money, make no mistakes with transfers and win the EPL/UCL and all the other trophies from Day one.
I am sure people here can come up with list of managers who can do that. So its not going to be difficult for Ayto. He can do the scouting here. Ridiculous amount of expertise here is going unused.

Maybe he'll prove me wrong but I have issues with the transfer policy yesterday and Arteta's stance.

He's spent the last part of this window pretty tetchy and obviously pretty worked up in press conferences about bringing another forward in.

It shouldn't be a zero sum game between either bringing in a top, top striker or no-one. I agree that we shouldn't have signed anyone full time as just a body as it would have bloated the squad and hindered us bringing someone actually decent next summer.

What we needed was a body to take 10-15 minutes off Havertz in games we're 2 or 3 nil up in, or to start against the dross. Basically what Eddie was for his past couple of seasons. I find it impossible to believe there wasn't a striker of that talent level somewhere in europe available on loan.

Looking at the fixture schedule it's not too hectic currently so I guess we may get away with it, but if we go deep in the CL or Havertz picks up an injury or his form drops off a cliff we could be in a bit of trouble.

I don’t know why there is a need for people to have homogeneous views on football. I can accept that Arteta is a very good young coach with limitations. While others will say that he’s amazing and those who thinks he’s a fraud. The spectrum is wide and I do not believe that we should disrespect or silence those with different views on football. Regardless of how nonsensical the views maybe. Plus there is an ignore feature and if you use it. Your experience here will be much more pleasant. Trust me.

I just don't know who to blame for the holes in our squad, if it's on the manager or the club. Maybe he's just not getting backed that much. But it's clearly his fault that Havertz is our 65 million main man. But also that was 2 seasons ago and we didn't spend that much in the summer esp when you consider we also sold nketiah and esr for good money. I think all the other big clubs outspent us this year.

I had this issue with turning on wenger back in the day as well, maybe his style of coaching and tactics were a bit ancient at that point but also seems to me that the club still has a level of ambition that doesn't allign with the fans. Clearly a different story back then though since we couldn't beat good teams and now we have a great top 6 record. If we were really serious we'd have gone for an attacker last window or this. And not just gone for one actually bought one. Arteta needs people around him helping with transfers as well, i'm not sure how it works at other clubs but I don't think ancelotti is in charge of transfers at real for example.

Ultimately, as ever we don't know whether the issue was Arteta's being stubborn, the owners being parsimonious or the DOF(acting) being a bit crap. I guess we'll know more in the summer as SURELY the club wil bring in a forward or two, but either way, not even managing a Morata on loan seems a remarkable failure.

Honestly I use them because the team removed the dislike button. That’s the main reason.

There needs to be a way to say I disagree. The options are sad/angry/red card on the negative spectrum. Perhaps the admins can address this.
