You would have to be a complete idiot to not be able to see what Arteta has done for this club. Trophies are never a guarantee, even in a great season. We faltered last year, sure. But he has built us into a dominant side that can compete and often times destroy the top top sides.

Unfortunately, I think there are many who fall on the dark side of the line drawn in my first sentence. I’d love to see their perspectives if they weren’t just parroting from commentators and negative social media posts.

IMO, there is not a manager that could’ve come in and done a better job than Arteta has to put the club in such a strong position and improve the overall club culture. The dude just gets it. He’ll never be Wenger, no one will. He’s built something different. Moving Arsenal towards being a machine rather than something just beautiful but delicate. As his first project, it’s really impressive, and I do think he’s learning and improving year after year. I’m surprised there are still so many who can’t see it.

I guarantee you you haven't watched villa more than 2 times this year. If you had you would see how disgusting they set up. They are sit sit hit you on a transition team. That's fine way to play when your not trying control a game which is what the serial* winner pep does. If he had saliba and Gabriel then he would be in his second dynasty already.

Our best duo is saliba and Gabriel not Saka+insert name here. If that much isn't clear at this point then maybe you are the casual you seem to be calling everyone else.

The best teams typically play around their best player.

City do it with EH, and KDB before that. Pool do it with Salah. We do it with the our two CBS.

No I don’t enjoy his football. It’s the worst attacking football I have seen at Arsenal. It’s going to get us major success after nearly 25 years though, it’s also going to add a major title to our history books, that’s all that matters. You can’t really question winning football.

Also, it might not be attractive on the eye, but it’s effective and amongst the best coached set ups in Europe atm.

More than anything, these guys deserve it. These players have been fabulous for years, the manager has improved nearly every season, the club has backed the coach with the best squad in Europe. Nothing is being given here, we’ve done everything the right way.

I couldn’t be more happier for everyone involved. The knives only come out for me when the season is finishing empty.

The football isn’t as bad as people lead on. It’s definitely not joga bonito, but it’s a far cry from boring mourinho and even simeone teams.

I think a big part maybe it’s coaching, but I think Ødegaard has let us down a bit in the middle of the pitch hurting our attacking play. He’s a key creative player for us… but maybe it is that Arteta values control more as some have suggested. But if Ødegaard could unlock a defense like fabregas could, our game would be much more beautiful. We still have our moments, but nothing like Rosicky, Özil, Fabregas, etc would give us.

But yeah, if we can get over the line, none of that will matter anyways.

Saka has 4 goals. I watch Villa many times. We have no one who excites like Rodgers. No midfielder that scores like Buendia. They play way more watchable with a better build up. I watch 5-7 Pl games a week, frankly outside of Sp.rs or United no top side is as unwatchable as Arsenal. Even United has been better than us since firing ScAmorim

It isn’t Ode’s fault he isn’t a 10. He is an 8. Rice is also not an 8 but a 6. The midfield I want is Eze, Ode, and Rice at 6. Rice as great as he is outside set pieces is pretty useless in final third

Kinda this tbh. The prem has seen two-to-three big tactical developments in the past 10 years. The arrival of Guardiola meant the advent of dominating positional play entered the league, the rise of Klopp's Liverpool kicked up the standards for what truly aggressive pressing looked like, and I would argue the latest big tactical development is De Zerbi's approach to build up which is supposed to bait aggressive pressing and counteract it (its no coincidence what De Zerbi's record is against Liverpool, I think he beat them like 4 times his first season at Brighton). That means in the past 10 years, new philosophies have quickly risen as a way to gain those tiny little marginal advantages over prevailing tactics. People often focus on how much the prem spends on players, but look at the coaches that this league has employed over the past 10 years. Ancelloti coached Everton for like 1+ year ffs. You wouldnt see that in any other league. Its so competitive, there's so much money. If Arteta manages to finish the season with 90+ points, that would be nothing short of astounding tbh (especially considering how much we're dominating other competitions).

He has more goals than 4 goal Saka in league. So or Watkins and Rogers sh.ts on any attacker we have stats. Have you seen our attackers numbers? Mik has destroyed our entire front line. Who scores goals in our midfield? Nobody. Buendia would lead our team in league goals with same numbers, as mediocre as he is our attackers have been even more sh.t.

I am not ode fan, the midfield has Rice it won’t be bullied because we will actually create chances and teams will have to respect that. I don’t want 2.5 water carriers in my midfield if every manager set up like Mik I would watch ladies volleyball and 2 hours of flying camel tow.

I think it was a necessary change. Group stage had gotten stale and boring. Teams were just going through the motions and on the final matchday many didn't even have anything to play for.
Now with a few exception every team has something to play for on the final day.

The old format was fine and competitive. They ruined everything by including more teams into the CL a few years ago, watered down the competition and now you too many meaningless games.

You talk as if this was done to improve the integrity of the tournament, it was purely financial and a money grab.
