At this moment I just see him as someone blocking Nwaneri and MLS from getting game time in the left 8 role.
He does "excite" me.

Is this why he’s getting so much unnecessary hate? Narrativemania strikes again. At this moment I just see him as someone blocking Nwaneri and MLS from getting game time in the left 8 role.

Met him a couple of times many, many years ago now. First time was not long after the 2006 WC iirc. Guy is exactly how you’d expect to such a hilarious extent.
Yeh agree on Merino but do you purposely just pick players people don’t like and like them?Everyone on this forum hoping that he fails, but he keeps proving you all wrong every game.
Why don’t people like these players? Usually it’s for irrational reasons, if it’s legit then usually I agree.Yeh agree on Merino but do you purposely just pick players people don’t like and like them?
One thing I notice here is that there's a bias against tall non-defenders who play with an upright posture no matter what they do. Rice, Havertz, and Merino all receive the same treatment in that regard. Is this why he’s getting so much unnecessary hate? Narrativemania strikes again.

He’s too slow. He will be nothing more than a solid squad player. But boy is he unathleticHe’s the reincarnation of Xhaka. A good player that people will start overrating when he inevitably starts popping up with goals.

I was expecting a starter and thought he was better than thisThat’s what he was signed to be. What else were you expecting?
I didn’t think he was better than this at all and question the signing. I see him as depth only.I was expecting a starter and thought he was better than this
He is incredibly similiar to Edu in playing style, I agreeHe's a clever player with surprisingly quick feet and turning circle despite his size.
Actually with the way he turns with his head up he reminds me of Edu.
