We've been too conservative yes, looking to be solid first and then using our other tools more. Its been our MO since MO has been gone.

Lets hope the management do something about our lack of central access, because they see it.
Shaktar at home Tuesday, i think Nwaneri should start.

We have 4 points from two of our tougher CL group stage fixtures, if we get top 8 or not I really cant see us not making 9th to 24th.

A midfield of Merino-TP-Nwaneri would be a very fluid setup, something I'd like to see actually.

Think the game has to be win, we need to get between 10-20 points in this first phase to qualify for the next round IMO.

Passing judgement on a game where all were crap is not the one. He is a good all round CM and you dont get to be part of the SPANISH set up without being somewhat decent, especially in MF. Our lack of balance is the issue here.

We have to give him time, but he doesn't look at all like a Spanish midfielder..

Though I'm sure it's hard to fill in at our MF when things aren't working out.

Bit of weird hate coming towards him we never seen him in full game yet the guy not even 100%

I can't judge anything beside the only good he show that he help defensively and win balls back. Him being slow with ball and don't do much offensively is something you have to wait

Yeah it’s so silly lol. Just came back without a pre season and has been deployed in this turgid football we are playing. It’s simple 2+2 logic here.

Early days but he's not good, is he? Just runs around and sticks a leg out or hoofs the ball up the pitch. Joelinton without the melanin.
He’s played a handful of cameos all in different positions after returning from injury. It takes time to get those relationships going.

The only problem maybe is he is kinda slow but when he played with Spain against Denmark he look involved alot so I don't know that's why to me it seem it'll take him bit of time to settle specially when team around him can't stay fit

He’s an attacking midfielder. His strength is duels and heading. His job is to create from duels

Merino is just Fellaini 2.0, Fellaini is used as a creative player at times in Everton but he's never going to be successful as one at the highest level. Anyone expecting Merino to be a better player than Fellaini is overrating him.

DOn't know people were expecting. He is a box to box midfielder who sometimes gets deployed a bit further forward due to goal threat. He can occasionally play creative passes, but he's basically a bit of a Kai in midfield but more involved.

Xhaka/ Rice hybrid, that's who he is.
