Done well upfront but maybe partey's suspension in the first leg is a blessing in disguise as it allows him back into midfield with newfound confidence and we can throw trossard upfront. I can see psg completelly nullifying him/us if he plays striker. This is a team that barely let salah have a kick for 2 games. If we're being honest, in that first half at home against madrid mbappe looked alot more likely to decide the outcome of that match than merino who was completely invisible. All in all I cant fault his contributions since our front line injury crisis.

Idk about that. I’ve always rated and backed him on here, and wanted to sign him in the summer, few others on here too.
Yeh I wanted him and protected the signing, people were saying he was gonna play like Havertz at LCM and I believed it’s impossible for a player to be 1st sub for Spain at CM and be a plodder.

His start here was super difficult. No pre season, instant 2 month injury, and plunged into a struggling side.

Tbf at points I did lose hope to an extent; because he had some poor showings. But it’s come together for him now.

Saw him in the break, was just standing there in normal clothing. Don't think is an injury and if it is, it's nothing serious.

Think it is a knock. Arteta hardly ever omits players from the match day squad if they're 100% fit. I'm sure it is just a precaution though and he will be in the starting line up vs PSG.

I was really frustrated over Arteta sticking with the Merino at 9 experiment for anything more than a few games as a stop gap.

I'm so so happy to have been proven completely wrong. He has done so well, I rated Merino before this anyhow but I'm so pleased to see him making such a huge impact to the team.

But why? If not Merino we will have to play Trossard who is inconsistent and clearly a poor fit for the kind of striker Arteta wants. Playing Martinelli as striker would bring the question as to who we have to play as our left winger. So it's not like we have great options other than Merino.

I really like Arsenal. But you, do you like Arsenal? Or just Arsenal with Trophies?
