Top, top player. He’s ready to do some damage and really help us pop if he’s utilised away from the rhs of mf this season.

He had an excellent game showcasing calmness composure and intelligence but some sadly some just won’t recognise it.

Truth.

A lot of people hate on his transfer but his utility as a very versatile squaddie who can just be dropped in cold combined with the price - I think it was a really good transfer.

Said it earlier that we just cannot start Rice and Merino in midfield together. Only way to keep them both on the pitch is if Merino plays upfront. Other than that it's either Rice or Merino alongside Zubimendi, Ødegaard or Eze.

For me he's a quality player. Adds goals and strength. He's a bit slow, but a very sturdy player who will prove his value over the season both in midfield and upfront.
