People keep repeating this myth, there's passing in these videos that Xhaka is incapable of pulling off.

Do you really think Arteta is demanding a ball playing keeper and defender but he's going to buy a none ball playing midfielder?
This is great. I mean, to add to it, he is Spanish, to even get into that team you need ball skills, and he was starting for them.

Xhaka played as a box to box in 22/23. He stayed well clear of Partey and Zinchenko who took control of the build up.

His rolls was to make movements in the final third and use his passing ability more in the final third. I think this is what Merino would be good at.
People think Merino will do the same Xhaka did only because he is Spanish and they are usually excellent doing that but Merino is not a great passer. He is very average in creative offensive through balls and not the best vision. He is similar to Rice in the meaning he is great imposing but not the best contributing in the attack with creativity. My problem with this is we will need Zinchenko there so that means LB is exposed when we are being attacked.

In the end I prefer to keep things simple, just play a baller next to Rice/Merino and let Ødegaard free to do the magic more advanced.

We struggling to get this over the line while Chelsea sign player like Neto and Osimhen to follow

Ffs. Chelsea finished more than 20 points behind us and they scored 14 goals less than us. Osimhen and Neto can probably contribute to bridging that gap if they stay fit.

You know what they don't help? The 34 more goals they conceded.

I am going to trust in Edu and Artea. They are making the right moves. They covered left back. They moved on ESR for a good fee. They look to be moving Eddie on too. Hopefully we can move on Nelson, but there is less of a market for him. Same goes for Partey.

It's easier to improve on a squad than finished 6th.

I think Edu and Arteta know what makes us better.

We unlike Chelsea we look for best possible deal even if mean few millions difference. We look sure Merino gonna join us so we taking our time the deal close being done anyway it wouldn't matter when he'll join because he won't be ready until September at least because lack of pre season.

Be thankful we aren’t Chrlsea’s transfer mess. Theirs might make for exciting windows, but our transfer strategy is working 1000 times better.

Can’t believe there’s real Arsenal fans here simping for Chelsea’s transfer business.

Actual tears in my eyes.

I think there's certain fans think the transfer window is actually a competition you can win and are actually more bothered about that than actually results on the pitch.

There's sometimes I wonder who the club with 89 points were and who the club that finished 5th and 6th roughly 25 points behind were with some of the posts in here.

You want us to stop discussing our most active transfer in the transfer window on a transfer football forum. Why? To save you a click?

Just go do something else if it’s frustrating you.
Because it’s * to bump a thread when it’s been inactive for more than 1 hour without posting any significant news. Most people go to this thread because they want news, not because they want to read this: Mikel Merino

Arsenal Quotes

One of the things I discovered in Japan was from watching sumo wrestling. At the end you can never tell who has won the fight, and who has lost, because they do not show their emotion because it could embarrass the loser. It is unbelievable. That is why I try to teach my team politeness. It is only here in England that everybody pokes their tongue out when they win.
