Mikel Starteta Wars: Phase IV - A New Cope

Should Arteta’s position as manager be under threat if we don’t win the PL or CL?

Very cagey from us, we gave them too much respect. Not sure if this was his plan.

Anyway, first coach to beat them 4 times in a row.

Had some trouble trying to figure out what to do with United marking Ode out of the game during the first half.

Thankfully we looked a lot more up for it after the break.

Having said that, he needs to figure out something different for the left hand side.

I get that Timber/Cala/Tomi have all been start stop (or barely stat in Tomi's case), but it's just not looking good.

At this rate We have to Joover what he ask for.

We're city that good at corners when he was there? I really can't remember but here he took it to other level

Good turn around 15 goals scored still we could be much better I feel our team can go into another level. But injures ain't helping.

Just continue winning try finish 1st half of season with 40 points

I remember there being all of these reports about Arteta going and talking to coaches in other sports (American football, basketball, etc) for ideas…

I’m half convinced that a lot of these set piece routines are influenced by basketball tbh. Some of the runs the players make look like plays you’d see in the NBA.

I think we physically just strong nothing to do with other sport also when you got deadly delivery like Saka and rice it's just make the opposition worry

It’s been said (in the athletic) that it was Arteta that convinced pep about giving jover more time to work his routines etc, and that they had a very strong relationship which is why jover jumped at the chance to come here with Arteta. Given that it wouldn’t surprise me if he gets more time to work on more elaborate set plays at Arsenal than at City

The year he joined City, they immediately led the league in goals scored from corners and conceded the 2nd fewest. This is just what he does.
Really amazing pep just didn't convinced him to stay. The guy can be important for any team but honestly you need physical players to execute his set pieces

Really? Coz when he moved to us, City fans were quite happy on social media to get rid of him

Pep's ego is too big to try to convince anyone to stay and Jover and Arteta are especially close. I'm sure this job came with a pay raise and far more autonomy and respect. Plus who wouldn't prefer to live in London rather than Mordor?
