Mikel Starteta Wars - Phase V: The Empire's Firing Blanks

Should Arteta’s position as manager be under threat if we don’t win the PL or CL?

Brighton leak 3 more goals. Still cant believe this De Zerbi MF'er is name dropped as a potential alternative to Arteta. What kind of donkey would think removing Arteta for De Zerbi ot be a good idea. Horrible idea!! The stuff of self sabotage.

Who are the names the naysayers are floating around these days? I think Fazzy was talking up the Real Sociedad manager, anyone else?

Good news, how we've been doing over the past 18 months or so he definitely deserves an extension.

Now let's get some silverware this season 😏

Brighton had nine players out due to injury and suspension. Meanwhile we have one or two players unavailable and capitulate.

What about run in last season? Or the one before that?

The Mikriders are every bit as toxic as they claim the outers are.

We had bad luck with injuries and not enough quality on the bench to back that up. Bad luck. Also it’s not like that was our only chance for the title, as Mik continue to prove game by game we will be there in the fight come may.

If we win something they can extend. But the owner couldnt care less about titles so they will extend anyway. This club reward failure.

Failure

We are competing on a structural basis with oil states, last year wasn't a one-off. That's a foundation for trophies. Hold your horses, things are looking good for the (near) future.

But that's @A_G point, no? We literally had so few injuries over the length of last season, we lose Saliba and the season derails completely in the run-in. Then it's written off as "if we hadn't had injuries we'd have won it!" but look at Brighton and Newcastle this season with all their injuries and still doing respectable each. Does it make sense that Brighton and Newcastle should have better bench cover than us when they have 8-9 injured from their senior squad?

Newcastle playing a 17yo for 3x90 minutes against Chelsea, PSG and Man United and winning all 3 games with this injury list?

We wouldn't even give our youngsters game time when 5-0 up.

As A_G mentioned, it was the same the season before that, I remember posting this about a game against Newcaslte 2 season back:

We were without Partey and Tierney yesterday, while Newcastle were without Wood, Trippier, Shelvey, Willock, Isaac Hayden, Schär leaving injured 4 minutes into second half, Wilson played for the full 90 minutes after being out 4 months and kept going, Ryan Fraser only played 13 minutes after being away for a period too.

If we don't act like idiots in January we'd have cover for injured players. But we decided to desperately get everybody out and get nothing back in. Ridiculous. We only have 1 tournament to focus on since January 20th, and we look this exhausted at the end of the season. A joke.

And it was the same end of last season. We need to prove this season that injuries does not stop us as much as it has done so far under Arteta. Time will tell. So far we've seen some injuries here and there, and we've looked uninspiring for most parts, but still gotten results. What would happen if we lost Saka, Rice or Saliba for a longer period though?

Arsenal Quotes

What does Arsenal mean? It means class. The structure of the Club, everything has a classy feel about it. It isn't always about success, there is more than that and this is what makes it a cut above the rest.
