say yes

4 senior midfielders ahead of Elneny: Ramsey, Xhaka, Torreira, Guendouzi

2 talented academy prospects behind: Maitland-Niles, Willock

Would genuinely love to hear one reason why we shouldn’t sell him. Other than the fact it’s extremely unlikely anyone will ever want to match his wages / pay us money for him. He’s going to be stuck here for years isn’t he?

Some people seem to have forgotten that literally every season we go through an injury crisis and that right now we have to fight for 4 competitions. Elneny is needed on the bench, we will be reminded of that when Ramsey gets his annual injury.

When was the last time we went through a genuine injury crisis though? We had a pretty decent health record last season and the season before IIRC.

In what sense?

He’s on high wages, takes minutes away from our talented youngsters and looks out of his depth even when he gets his odd EL start against Ukrainian farmers.

He's the very opposite of the perfect squad player. With the limited amount of resources we have, we need to be rid ourselves of these types.

Reading this post you would think Elneny was 50. Half the people on this group were shouting for him last year, His 26. His a good bench option and he will be an asset in cup competitions. This is not the arsenal of 10/15 years ago, People need to remember that.

He is not a good bench option. We shouldn't be wasting big wages on players with extremely average ceilings. Those minutes should be given to big talents such as AMN.

Common, The arguement your using is flawed. Big talents? We dont have big talents coming through at the moment your looking at kids with Arsenal glasses on. Your also referencing AMN who is currently out with a fractured leg and his at least another month away.

Elneny is a team player, Who hasnt moaned about being on the bench, Gives a consistant performance and is willing to graft when put in the team. he is the essence of a squad player!

People seem to have no clue how many of our lesser players, even our youth products, would rather start for a mid-table team (where they could also get similar wages if that mid-table team was English) than be on the bench for us. Elneny loves being on the bench and offer simple, steady performances in relatively easy games out of which we need results without adding fatigue to our starters.

Our bench vs. Cardiff for example was Torreira, Welbeck, Mkhitaryan, Elneny, Leno, Lichtsteiner, Holding. Welbeck and Elneny are great squad players because they are happy to be on the bench for Arsenal and can get a job done. Elneny in particular is a long-term option for the bench, since he just renewed last season. The younger ones will want to hit the road if we play them and they do good but not good enough to start. Torreira, Mkhitaryan and Leno will sooner rather than later demand starts, and they will probably get them as they might be part of our standard rotation, while Lichtsteiner we have no clue about (not me at least.) You can't have a full back-up 11 of inexperienced players like Holding, and you can't have a bench full of players that might soon be unhappy not starting. Nor of course can you change your second and third-choice players every summer window FFS.

We're playing the Europa League, the Premier League, the FA Cup and hopefully will look to go far in the League Cup as well.

We overrate our youngsters, AMN has at least one mistake in him. I would love to see him get minutes but those have to be starts. 10-20 minutes won't help him. He's also out injured.

Elneny on the other hand, is happy to come off the bench for 45 minutes.

He's also been steady without a single horror show of a performance so far.

Our bigger issue is that our first team is dreadful, compared to the rest of the top 6.
