People just underestimate how much of a problem this guy is in our current situation.

All you can see him do is point to the ball carrier to pass it farther away from him, and when he receives the ball the only thing he thinks about is "OMG OMG OMG JUST DONT LOSE IT" then he passes back.

That leads to false stats where he "at least doesnt do errors leading to goals".

But when he is in the midfield, we have no chance of playing football.

Pay attention now he started about 5 games for us, we didnt have midfield play, at all. we just pass at our back then go long ball to the wing ( and misplace that long ball cause our quality sucks)

Until this guy stop starting games we will never rise from this slump of form.

I honestly rather play with charlie patino ahead of this cone of a player... hell id even play 10 man instead of playing him... he is the pinnacle of anti football

Has reverted to his old self. Just passes backwards and side ways now. Doesn't pass forward or dribble forward with the ball. Even Luiz was giving him ****. Turn to the second half, and even if Everton were allowing us to have the ball, we at least did more with it compared to the first half.

He never was good.

Fans hyped him, because he was still able to press in the 93th minute. That's how low our standards are.

So many stupid posters on this forum who only like to big Elneny up because they know it triggers me. Wish this forum would be more about football than just trying to annoy other people.

Must not renew this player.

Needs to be binned, hopefully at season's end.

but Holding’s hair transplant was painless
El Nenny is playing to his level. A lot if running and simple passes. He isn't ****, just basic.

He’s dogshit, another one in a long list disgracing our club and what our midfield used to stand for. Gutless, middle of the road *****.

So now he's bad again? Thought he was good now?

It's about partnerships. He looked the part next to Partey.

I’m surprised how much Arteta’s struggled to balance midfield given it was his position.

Elneny was doing more than ok before the international break but fell off a cliff since his spell out with covid.

You’re right that Partey was a big factor - but surely Arteta looks at Partey’s tools and thinks maybe it’s a good idea to have another dynamic, physically robust guy in there?

It almost felt like he got injured trying to do the work of 2 people.

I think as a player outcast by Emery, Arteta was keen to use him as an example of his coaching prowess by bringing him back, improving and using him...

I still like Mo in a way. He is the same as he's always been for us. He has some had very good games here in the past, many average ones and a few poor ones. Overall he'd be a good squad player in a better team, but currently he's just one of many at the same average level...

Ideally we should be using promising academy players instead of him, but frankly our squad is average that aside from obvious choices like Xhaka and Mustafi, it's hard to say who should ideally be culled first.

Regressed a lot since that Manchester game. Willock deserves to start ahead of him.
Even that game he wasn't that great. He can't pass forwards. He doesn't tackle. What he does have is tons of energy and so if we're sitting deep like we did against Man U with a DM who can also get forward next to him, he looks decent. But he's not that good and wasn't as good as hyped in the Man U game either
