Yousif Arsenal

Was on Vinai's payroll; misses 4th place trophy 🏆
Wouldn't he cost something insane?
Yeah likely around 70M or more. Villa wouldn't even sell if they didn't have PSR issue but they need to sell someone that can provide them with money so they can improve.

Not sure we'll splash out that much. But I wouldn't mind Rogers as a LW tbh. Can also play through the middle and carry the ball vs low blocks. Proper disruptor.

to be fair i'd take Tielemans from them to replace Thomas. Rogers i love him as player but his style don't suit us he love running with ball from the middle and connect with teammates with villa it'll work they don't face deep blocks with us it'll be frustrating he'll face deep blocks.

I think we lack strong runners with the ball a bit. MLS and Rogers bombing that LHS with Rice's timed runs and drive could be a nightmare for opposing defence. On paper at least. Tilemans is a good shout too. He's a bit bad tracking back when further forward but from deep I think he'll be able to play Partey role.

Tielemans was very good last season too we wanted him before but not sure if we still want him. he'll give us elite depth.

Rogers and Eze are top of my list.
Playmaking via powerful dribbling in central areas is badly needed in this Arsenal team. IMO there are three guys in the league I thought could do it, all with different pros

Cunha pros: Could also be a backup CF, best ball striking and finisher of the three imo

Eze: Closest to being a traditional no10 out of the three, finishing isn’t great but he’s a good ball striker so there’s hope of improvement. I’d say he’s the least powerful of three, relying more on speed than strength but still a big improvement on our midfield.

Rogers: Youngest of the three, has the most question marks but also the highest potential, not really sure what his final position will be but an absolute cheat code of a dribbler. Too fast/agile for the strong guys and too strong for the fast/agile guys.

All three of them have shown good productivity, ability in tight spaces, decision making (Cunha can be a bit greedy but idk if that was because he was at Wolves) and goalscoring potential. We should be signing a player in this mould for sure.

Deep blocks aren't really a problem for us tbf, it's the mid-blocks that we can't seem to deal with. Easiest way is to have more pace over the top or more dribblers.

Fully agree. But sadly we are the most one dimensional predictable team in the league. Hence why even smaller teams matchup well with us. I don’t see any different approach or Arteta having the capability to add layers to how he set up. I really believe this will be the season his stock will fully fall and he will have the media attention as I don’t expect Sp**s or United to have historically bad season and hug all media attention

It really feels like we should just give RBL 150mil for both players and they can decide how much we paid for each individually on their end and everyone can move on.
Tbh Leipzig is not an easy team to do business with. Look how they stood their ground against City and forced them to pay 90 million euros. The price they quoted the whole time.

They absolutely do use them both interchangeably and it's kind of annoying . Mid-blocks are similar but they don't just camp in the box, they usually form a barrier just in front of it and squeeze the space ahead of the box. It's useful against teams like ours that can easily get through a low-block but currently don't really have the pace and the transitional threat to hurt a mid-block the same way. In theory, a player like Martinelli should be the failsafe but he's become so blunt in the last season and a half that he's virtually ineffectual.

Deep blocks are deeper than mid-blocks and you can usually tell the difference when you see teams try to camp in the box against us and we still end up scoring a bunch of goals against them.

Arsenal Quotes

In June 1996, David Dein, Peter Hill-Wood and Danny Fiszman came out to Nagoya to meet me on behalf of Arsenal. Within an hour we came to an agreement. The Japanese directors didn't try to keep hold of me in the usual way but talked with persuasive arguments... But as far as I was concerned, the decision was taken. Arsenal. A decision that would change my life.
