It's interesting, I rate Mainoo as a possession player, and a good one at that. It's rare to see English players that comfortable in possession - which I'm all for.

That said, you watch someone like Lewis-Skelly, and it feels like two different worlds. This is a player who's comfortable under pressure, can pass, dribble, drive forward, and utilise their frame to their advantage.

We're so blessed in that respect. It's not comparable to that lot. Weirdly, Rogers would be a continuation of that. He has Hale End written all over him.

I hope we don’t spend over £100m on Alvarez. I’d rather Rogers and Kroupi, both can play LW but Kroupi mainly as rotation with Gyokeres.

This season he scored 10 goals and generated 8.05 post shot xG from 6.78 xG which suggests good finishing but also quite a bit of keeper underperformance.

Last season he scored 8 goals and generated 7.78 post shot xG from 6.58 xG so that does suggest that he’s an above average shooter of the ball tbh. My concern is that long shots are skewing this but I don’t have access to xG in the box, I’m not sure that’s even a thing

He looks better than Tross at Brighton. We'd be getting an upgrade for sure.

LOL, one thing you don't worry about Alvarez is ball striking.

His goal record is not one that gives me much. At this point, his name is beginning to precede his actual threat. Being a great striker of the ball doesn't always equal being a great goalscorer.

He scores a lot of his harder strikes and fluffs a lot of his easier ones from what I've seen. Like above, good ball-striking - not necessarily good goalscoring.

Don't get me wrong, I'll take it - I just hope people don't get their hopes up too much. That 30-goal player is not on the market for us right now.

United fans a year ago were arguing Mainoo was better than what Rice offered us.

My aim/wish at this stage would be Barcola alongside the Greek lad for LW, Rogers coming in to replace Ode.

That’s a solid revamp. I could see Havertz working alongside these players.
