I remember how mad people got that Hleb had the cheek to grab some icecream with Milan officials. After putting up with his inconsistent seasons the minute he got good he was gone

I'm pretty sure they all knocked us out of the CL. The memories fade but I was there for all if it.
They did but unfortunately, the story is way worse than that.

In 2003, who was it that got drawn out to the left to create a huge gap for Carew to run into to score his first? Kolo Toure

In the same game, who was stood behind Carew and failed to challenge him as he powered in the winner? Kolo Toure

In 2004, who got nutmegged in the box before Wayne Bridge sent us crashing out of the CL? Kolo Toure

In 2005, who failed to deal with the long ball which allowed Pizarro to open the scoring in Munich? Kolo Toure.

In the same game, who lost his man to allow Pizarro a double? Kolo Toure

In 2008, who allowed Babel to get in behind him and concede a penalty in what is quite possibly the worst ever Arsenal experience after the CL final? Kolo Toure

He's an absolute cult hero, and I love the man, but boy did he cost us.

If I recall correctly, he was immense in his breakout season, because he had Sol beside him.

He never progressed, and as the senior CB he was inadequate.

I still have a soft spot for Ramsey due to nostalgia, but after the 2013/14 season, it seemed like he became more focused on scoring goals and forgot his duties as a midfielder. Thinking back to the 2013/14 season, the goal he scored in the FA Cup final definitely influenced how he is remembered here, despite the fact that his time with us had its ups and downs

He was never world class, but he was free!

Of all the w*nkers we've had at this club and still have at this club why take the time to sh*t on Kolo Toure of all people? 🥴

A bit weird.
You could make that type of list about any player if you wanted.

Also weird to blame Toure for that 2008 tie that would make calciopoli refs blush. Babel Kuyt and the entire villages of those Dutch and Swedish refs need to be shot, 16 years later and I could still break someone in half over those matches.

If you play for Arsenal for 7 or so years you’re going to make mistakes.

Saliba, White, Rice have already made mistakes and you don’t see man sitting there tallying them up (maybe the case with Rice actually).

A bit ridiculous.

Rice should be in this thread either way, he's been here for one season and is already in people's best XI of the last 20 years. If you ask AM it's because when the Emirates was built players used to die mid season to tuberculosis and scurvy.

All that said, he's a massive success story. Picked him up from an African academy on a free and he was an Invincible soon after. There are fewer feel good stories than that, and that's ignoring his trial when he took out Henry, Bergkamp and Wenger!

He's a lot like Koscielny for me. Top defender 80% of the time, but if you look at why the team faltered in the most crucial of games, Laurent was often the one getting done for it.

What a rubbish take.

Arsenal Quotes

Ian Wright was the incredible striker for whom those around him sometimes found hard to control especially the opponents. He was an extrovert, hyperactive, and had endured an extremely hard life. His playing style was instinctive, and he had that killer instinct, a player like no other.
