I think the director or whoever he is, is undermining his own position when comparing transfer fees of Graelish and Antony. They are widely considered massive overpays (maybe not Graelish anymore) so I think him being so public about it kind of weakens his stance. Everybody knows he's not being sold for 100m. He's not wrong putting on a strong front but I don't think it's as effective as he wants it to be.I seriously don’t think Donetsk are doing anything wrong with demanding crazy money from an English club.
Neither party is wrong here. Shakhtar are right to try a fleece an EPL club for all they can. Mudryk also isn’t wrong to try to force a move that is a significant step up in every way.
In my mind, the reason why it’s all “acceptable” albeit unsavoury, is the fact that he signed a contract extension last year. Mudryk, Shakhtar and the whole footballing world would have already known full well at that point that he was destined for the big leagues in the very near future. He would have signed that contract to make Shakhtar whole (and get a payrise, but again, it’s peanuts in the big scheme of things). I wouldn’t be surprised if during these negotiations they talked about him being sold, perhaps figures were bandied about, assurances were made. He then signed that contract extension in good faith. And he feels that good faith is now not being returned, because we have ALL agreed that the sum Shakhtar is asking for is ffing nuts. So he’s decided to not be a **** like Harry Kane (who found himself in an almost identical situation really) and is fighting for his future.
Some of you might like the idea of ***** running around Arsenal. I’m not a huge fan of the idea…
As for being under contract stipulating that you can’t twerk for a prospective employer - wtf. Tell me you’re a teenager who’s never had a job without telling me you’re a teenager… people literally do this allll the time. I’ve got 12 headhunters on speed dial ffs.
Exactly. To me it looks like Mudryk respected Shakhtar by extending, wanting to give them good money from the transfer that was coming. In my mind, the reason why it’s all “acceptable” albeit unsavoury, is the fact that he signed a contract extension last year. Thought “the dawg” meant on the pitch? Anybody can be a dawg off the pitch if all you have to do is post on social media.
No other club wanted MartinelliIt worries me that no other club is interested
Exactly. To me it looks like Mudryk respected Shakhtar by extending, wanting to give them good money from the transfer that was coming.
Now Shakhtar disrespect his love for the club by demanding money that no one will ever pay for an inexperienced player from Ukrainian league. And ruin his possible chance for EPL title and only chance to play for Arsenal.
This is pretty much totally my take.Exactly. To me it looks like Mudryk respected Shakhtar by extending, wanting to give them good money from the transfer that was coming.

We didn’t bring in any attacker vs West Ham. Marquinhos, Cozier Duberry and Vieira was on the bench. If we don’t get this deal done before Brighton I have a feeling we will get an injury and every club will fleece us knowing we are truly fvcked. Edu has 60 hours to get this doneThis is pretty much totally my take.
As i said on another reply Mudryk has wanted a move since the summer & the word was if a suitable bid came in he could go.
If Mudryk was told/led to believe 40m was that figure in the summer & SD are now getting super greedy & maybe pricing him out of a move?
He hasnt kicked a ball for over 6 weeks due to WC.
It looks like they are more than Doubling the price for around 14 weeks of football when the player has played less than 20 games ffs.
They imho are trying to take the P Big Time!!
If around 50m + up to another say £20m in potential addons doesnt get it done im sure we walk away.
Patrick Lancaster, is it really you? Didn't know you cover sports. If you speak to people from in and around the Shakhtar region, like I have, you know this is done already effectively. It’s just details being negotiated is all.
The club wants the player and the player wants the club. It’s inevitable.
