Well, damn! I knew he was rapid, but Valverde is no slouch, had a headstart and still he cooked him for pace. I don't think any team would be foolish enough to play a high line against us with him on the pitch.

He’s not in a race with Valverde in that video, unless I’m completely missing something. Must be Lucas Vasquez you’re thinking of. He still completely cooks him though

Valverde can pretty much match Mudryk for pace. Top speed at least, Mudryk should have superior acceleration

I have seen nothing on that clip that we are desperate to have him. Actually just a copy of Martinelli while having the strength of Martinelli, he has the same weakness. His close control is nowhere the level of Saka, he uses his speed to pass player instead of technique. He needs open space and he is one footed.

I can show you a clip of Zaha doing exactly the same thing.

He is an upgrade on Martinelli and the left spot will be his once he settles

He is a man of God with strong morals. If he hates Russians for the war, he will feel sick playing for a club that rose because of Russian money, no matter the current owner. The fans have sung praise to the oligarch etc.

But it doesn't even matter like you say, because of the trajectories of the clubs, and he seems to be an Arsenal fan rather than Chelsea anyway.
I would imagine he'd be more upset with the chants from the fans rather than who the former owner is, since they keep chanting about Abramovich.

Either way, it doesn't matter. He's been twerking like crazy for Arteta, so I would be flabbergasted if he went anywhere else. But for all we know this could be a smokescreen for an under-the-radar signing like Wenger used to do. Zaha inbound?

Mudryk is the best thing since sliced bread right now because we are emotionally invested. Just like we were with many other transfers before.

If it happens, then great, we have a potential gem on our hands. If not, it sucks but it isnt the end of the world. Im sure we have some more players lined up.

Yep, it was breakdown time on here when we lost out on signing Raphina in the summer and he's nothing special.

I still expect us to sign Mudryk for what it's worth.

He's lightning quick, that's his only exceptional attribute I've seen.

People go crazy for pace for whatever reason. He does nothing in any of the compilations unless he's got space to run into and I'm assuming everyone else is judging him on the same compilation clips as I am as I doubt there are too many regular followers of the Ukrainian league on here.

Why wouldn’t we want to add another Martinelli to the squad?

I’ve never watched this lad play but we need a winger and the hype is giving me different vibes to, e.g. Pepe - people who watched the French league said that was a huge overpay from the start. Whereas there seems a consensus from the few who have actually watched Mudryk that he is a rare talent.

Price doesn’t seem that extravagant to me: wingers are the most expensive players in football, and £60m or so in January seems par for the course.

Could flop and ultimately big money signings are always going to be a risk. However, you’ve got to trust our scouting staff given their recent run.

They don't want 60m. They want closer to 100m. Probably settle around 80m. That's 10m less than United paid for Sancho when he was killing it in Germany. Yes it hasn't worked out but Sancho was brilliant in Germany which is a much better league than in Ukraine.

That's 30m more than Barca paid for Raphina who was relatively proven in the PL and a Brazil International.

80m is too much for someone who has shown so little.

80m isn’t too much if he turns out to be a great player though.

Although let’s wait and see what we pay first.

They want 85 mil in £££, not €€€. That's around 100 mil in €€€.

I think tops we go to £70 mil. Tbh if they looking like they messing us around we should just say take it or leave it with a deadline & move onto other targets.

Trouble is, I'm really not convinced we have other targets.

Yeah but you can't just pay 80m on potential. There has to be an element on what he is right now.

Is he going to contribute enough this year to warrant paying an extra 20m for him? Nobody knows until it happens and we see how it plays out but there's no way I'd be paying neat 100m for him.

Would you pay 80m for martinelli, but he has only played in ukraine, and been good for a season? It's so much money for unknown quantity. Got pepe-failure written all over it, except mydruk havent done **** yet in a worse league

Yeah £70m would probably be top level. And some of that being on conditions like games played, winning things etc.

I agree it should be this is our final offer and we are walking away. 24 hours to decide. There are other players out there.

There are plenty of wingers available this January. What makes you think this?

Just the repuration of Edu being totally incompetent, so he doesn't know even the bare basics about negotiation tactics?
Like who ?

*because Mudryk is our 3rd choice option already & we were only linked with 2 other wingers before we bid for him. Pino from Villarreal & Torres from MLS.
