Wasted at full back...need his driving runs from midfield bring out defenders towards him and maybe front players get some space rather than standing next to their defenders.... did hope when I heard moved ti full back in youth game it was only temporary....

Uncle @Macho is basically saying that black players have been targeted like this in the media for years now and it’s kind of sad that people are only noticing it when it happens to a Hale End kid.

It shouldn’t require it happening close to home to realise it’s wrong and it’s a bit cheeky to make it into an anti-arsenal thing because that’s not what it is in this case.

It’s further amplified by the fact that Arsenal fans themselves have engaged in such behaviour when the team was underperforming or the player in question wasn’t an academy graduate.

I didn’t care for it, but I respected the celebration because I was fully aware of the back story. However MLS doesn’t have the CV to publicly mock Haaland like that so there will be some backlash.

It’s not an Arsenal issue, more of a hierarchical one and it was never going to go down well in England period.

Anyways, rebels without a cause aside I hear MLS is a pretty dope midfielder?

I feel like he is making the LB his own so I’m happy as long as he figures. Saka has shown good players can get it in regardless so hopefully this is just for his development sake.

I think playing as a fullback in Arteta’s system is pretty low stakes anyways compared to the central areas? I’m fine with it.

This CV sh!t pisses me off. So player A can't talk nasty to player B because the latter has won trophies? How comes no one spoke out when Neal Maupay was being a menace? I'm pretty Luis Suarez won nothing at Liverpool but they encouraged his antics. Adebayor and Robbie Savage were known wind-up merchants too. It's another case of moving the goalposts to put down MLS for defending himself and his teammates. If stealing celebrationa were that disrespectful, why hasn't Halaand himself come out to say this?

I didn’t say that you can do what you want, I said English media wouldn’t take kindly to it.

It’s only news to those who didn’t care for the black players we had prior to Saka which is the majority of this forum hence the shock and horror.

It’s more of a cocky black kid. Let’s not act like this country media don’t have issue with what they see as young black men with attitude. If mls looked like foden and Haaland like drogba their reaction would be way different.

This forum is largely prejudiced or at the very least ignorant.

I don’t think you guys get to rally over MLS stuff, black players have been getting mocked by the British media for years it didn’t start with only Saka or specific kids this forum likes.

MLS got on with it and I think most of you should too instead of whinging.

Well you are entitled to your opinion, I think British media is both racist and pretend Woke. As for me, I backed all black players you insinuate got bad treatment. I even blame Mik for Pepe still. Only black player I didn’t back was Willian because he was cr.p. Although the racist abuse he got was sick he was great pro who was passed it and a quality human.

I don’t see why you want to gate keep on this. Let’s say someone is bigoted, everyone is bigoted by the way to some extent. Does connecting with a teenage player who’s black not help in a tiny way to chip away at that?

Anyway if you think it is a teachable moment go for it but I encourage and enjoy the two kids wither way

I get it he thinks it is a teachable moment. It’s fine with me. I been a victim of racism and gender war my whole life. I grew named Farzad as a kid post hostage crisis from Iran in usa in 80s so I get it. Still don’t think most of our fans are racist. As far as a football club goes it is a progressive fan base. But absolutely there is a double standard

You’re free to think that, but football fandom as a whole is strange and Arsenal fans the most vocal and reactionary isn’t immune not by a long shot.

Try being on here during adebayor, Gervinho and the french lot on here. With whipping the belt jokes and Bebe crap that I saw from a lot of the Europeans on here.

I can’t gatekeep a whole discussion, but I can call out hypocrites and selective outrage. Not saying you are part of this btw.

I get it bro as being a victim of all kinds of double standards and hypocrisy and it should be called out. And I get how infuriating and damaging these double standards are. Oh definitely our fanbase isn’t immune. I been racially attacked a bunch of times. In El Slanderino’s defense he quickly banned the racist.

The Adebayor song period was disgusting by the way. People who chanted it should be ashamed

I think this is the key point. In American sports you often hear about young players going at established stars and people like it because it makes for good viewing.

England is a very 'know your place' society, hence why we are declining in every area of life. You're not allowed to be ambitious or want better for yourself. One thing I do admire about the US is that they are the opposite of this

Biggest reason Europe is declining faster than USA is because Euros hate entrepreneurship and ambition. Class envy has never disappeared since Aristocracy died. In America the small business man like me is the ideal and most popular segment of workforce. In Europe the accountability and ambition free Union employee with great benefits is the ideal.

I think we see this hierarchical mentality in VAr. In Uk they won’t over turn an obvious mistake to not make the authority who made the mistake look bad. It is a bizarre hierarchical mindset that the lord/Ref is right even when wrong
