He'll be very able competition to anyone next to Rice IMO (including Bruno). I guess the bigger problem is we still don't really have a Rice substitute (I guess you could say Merino but he doesn't have the raw energy and ball-winning ability).

Where did that rumour even come from? Seen some of the deluded ****s thinking they could get him for under £50m

Well someone will be gone by next summer as they simply won’t get enough minutes. Zubimendi or Myles will play very little next season

Between those two you mentioned it’ll be Zubimendi. It would be foolish to sell MLS with his age and massive potential. Plus factor in the age of Bruno (realistically only get 2-3 top seasons from him) and it makes no sense to sell him.

I think he's good enough to start at least half the games and get a lot of sub appearances in the remainder. We will face low blocks and counter attempts and he has the skill to interplay near the opposition box whilst being defensively competent. Rice and Bruno start and the third spot is up for grabs. Much depends on our wing play but going aggressive and direct favours him over Ode who has a fight on his hands.

The reports say he was offered via an intermediary. So it may not be the club doing this, could be his camp seeing if there is an opportunity to go somewhere and be first choice and/or get better money.

Thank you. That's an important distinction. I'll lay off the club. It sounds like he has a very close-knit team looking after his career so I can (to some degree) understand them testing his value in the market.
