Delighted for him, Ethan has been very good this season but think Myles has been even better... congrats!

Lewis -Skelly though during his debut for England, when he's on a yellow card and a 60-40 tackle in favour of his opponent is calling his name...

He will never back down from a duel, for better or for worse. Seen him get clattered for it many times too.

If he isn't Arsenal's captain at some point in the future, then the club will have ultimately failed him.

The amount of racist hate under that tweet is why I pray England wait another 70 years for their next trophy

Amen
Where? I didn’t see any. Need to stop calling everything racist. Other fans calling him a dickhead isn’t racist.

It's because of his celebration against City.

Much of the media (and fans commenting) glossed over the fact that it was in retaliation to Haaland saying "Who tf are you" to him in the previous fixture.

He’s been labeled "arrogant" and "disrespectful" because of it. I think most of the backlash against him isn't really racial, but an unfair judgment of his personality. There's certainly people who combine both, though.

Cannot believe you say this after accusing other posters of profiling tall upright white players based off nothing. After all the evidence we’ve seen with Sterling, Saka, Rashford.

Making assumptions on personality whilst showing Grealish, Kane and Foden grace for similar stuff or worse stuff is at the minimum some sort of prejudice.

Definitely think there is a racial component to some of the abuse MLS has got.

I also think that their is a general British attitude that they don't like to see young players behave in a way that could be considered arrogant or getting above their station considering their experience.

Unfortunately though I think the racial component does make up a lot. Unless you're a Saka type personality you're probably going to fall foul of this stuff. Saka is literally impossible to dislike, he's as close to a perfect personality you will find in a football ,for most peoples tastes and even he got dogs abuse after the missed pen for England at the Euros.

What i don't like about that Haaland vs MLS situation was that you have to stretch things very hard to see MLS as being arrogant or even the protagonist.

Haaland attempted to intimidate him with what he said and use his status in the previous match to basically bully MLS.

I don't like Haaland, think he's a prick but I don't really blame him for doing it. You want to display your dominance over a young kid and get in his head a bit. It's football, stuff like that happens a lot.

If MLS had a stinker performance or even an average one in the last match against City and rubbed it in Haaland face I wouldn't have been keen on it either. But he scored a nice goal and had an overall great game, he EARNED the right to give Haaland a receipt based on his performance level.

He basically said 'You know who I am now' with that celebration.

I love it because it shows character and a personality profile that rises to the occasion in a high profile circumstance.

First of all, I acknowledged being wrong about the first incident you are referring to and apologized for it.

Second, you do realize that I didn't say it didn't have anything to do with racial prejudice period, right? Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't, it depends on who is saying what exactly.

I also think that their is a general British attitude that they don't like to see young players behave in a way that could be considered arrogant or getting above their station considering their experience.

I think this is what is at play for much of the hate MLS is getting, even though it's unjustified. I believe it has to do with the way it has been covered by the media, overlooking what Haaland did prior.

Then there are people who jump at this to this conclusion because of their prejudices towards black people. That is also present in the backlash, but I doubt it's the bigger factor here. There's too many people who don't think the same way about other black players that say it about MLS.
