We have Tierney who would've been fine. MLS should've moved to the middle as an in game adjustment from Arteta. Mik gets in these modes where's afraid to make a mistake than take a chance. Staying conservative in your home stadium is what annoys everybody.

This guy is so feckn good in midfield with, insanely press resistant and able to run past players with ease. If I was Arteta I'd find a way to move him there for next season. Maybe a main 3 of MLS, Rice and Zubimendi if we get that over the line. Try to emulate something like Liverpool's mid-2000s midfield with Mascherano, Alonso and Gerrard.

Arteta doesn’t know what he wants. None of his players end up playing where he thinks they will.

Wasn’t great either mind, there was a couple yards over he could have placed it. But going for placement over power from there is tried and tested. I’d be way more annoyed if he tried to power it and missed altogether.

It was a typical Martinelli shot from that angle though. He scores often when put through on goal but seldom from that angle. He should learn from Saka to be less predictable, where Saka often power his way top corner near post.

Agree, Martinelli would do well do add some variety to his shooting positions. Donnarumma knew he was going for that shot which gave him the extra edge.

Honestly I think you can do it every time but you need to get it across to the side netting.

Every keeper knew Henry was gonna do it but he kept scoring anyway.

This is the reverse angle of the Martinelli chance...you know what I think it's just a freaking good save.

EDIT: I guess the only thing he should have done was give it some air to go over Donnarumma

This reminded me of a post on X when someone said Saka should be more like Yamal after he scored that wonder goal against Inter. I get it, but some players do not have the facilities to do what the very best can do. Martinelli can't strike a ball as cleanly as Saka, and Saka can't dribble like Yamal. You just have to accept these things.
