Gary Neville gives his take on Newcastle's new owners & the controversy behind their takeover

Lol. Sky have shown multiple times that they will stay quiet about sport washing owners because it helps increase revenue and ratings.

The Super League was bad and all but it was in some ways a protest against all these oil clubs, it was an attempt to grab something back. There was a reason why the oil clubs weren't so fussed to be in it compared to other teams. If anything it reduces the advantage they have in the market.

But yeah of course Sky don't discuss that during the Super League talks, people like Neville just pointed a finger at the traditional teams while almost rewarding the oil clubs for sticking around. Same happened with UEFA. Its all corruption in one way or another, just souless suits sticking to wheoever can make them the most money or get them what they want.

And now Neville is somehow defending the Saudi state and all of the backwards **** they have done like murdering journalists and having crazy human rights issues. Its all because Newcastle being rich and oil money backed means the Premier League is even more competitive and attractive to the market. But whats the difference to the Super League with this situation?..... most of the money in the game will be concentrated into a few clubs, just like in the Super League but in an even more random and immoral way. People talk about the Super League but UEFA and the Premier League were the first to cause this cancer to the game.
With the utmost respect..... what does this have to do with Arsenal v Aston Villa???

Actually despise Neville. Look at the mental gymnastics there.

Bruce could have left anytime if everything was so bad but he didnt since he wanted his payoff. So he picked money over his own family. This is the way he described the torture he and his poor family had to experience a year ago btw: www.nufcblog.co.uk/2020/10/31/steve-bruce-has-a-message-for-the-newcastle-fans-slating-him-on-social-media/amp/

The man is a greedy liar that, unlike Benitez, was properly backed financially by Newcastle in the Premier League.

1-1 against Palace. They have now 0-4-5 and 4 points from 9 games.

Would be so lovely to see them relegated straight after getting the oil money.

Used to like Newcastle started following the English game in the 90s and they were probably the funnest team in the country to watch before the rise of Le Arse. Now that the butcher MBS owns them I frankly hate them more United and almost as much as the Lily ****e. I mean as bad as those guys are they are nothing to the genocidal butcher of Yemen. The league should of never approved this. If MBS qualifies for league ownership let’s just sell teams to the cartel next, this guy makes Roman the butcher, look like a tax accountant

Should be an interesting development. Before we start getting too carried away, it should be noted that they can't throw money at players the way Chelsea and Manchester City did because of Financial Fair Play restrictions. So this will be different. However, considering the £41 million loss Newcastle took when they dropped back to the Championship, plus lowered commercial revenue, they should be able to file a 3-year plan with UEFA to inject some cash into players.

Newcastle's wage bill of about £112 million is about half of Arsenal's. They can only increase it by 7% plus any new non-TV revenue they can create from sponsorships, match day revenue and player sales (their revenue was only about £178 million last year). This is where Newcastle could get a really big financial boost though. City has been able to sidestep FFP to some extent though enormous sponsorship deals that are somewhat incestuous, but apparently far enough removed from a direct line to the ownership to pass muster. I'll be interested in seeing what Newcastle can come up with in sponsorships.
Financial fair play is a joke city proved that. the Saudi wealth fund has one trillion in assets and can sign a thousand bum commercial deals with the club. The petrosheik butcher is bringing his blood money to the Premier league who would the league approve, if Hitler had a trillion they would sell him the whole league apparently

They wont spend £600 mil but a good breakdown of their spending possibilities under FFP by SwissRamble

This is the key tweet like you say. He also mentions Everton as an example of going too hard too soon and having no wiggle room.

The issue they have is that I doubt there’s any players actually worth 150M who’ll go to them next summer so they have to choose one of the cheaper options.

The real interesting part is what happens in January. They’re in real danger of going down and their defence and midfield is appalling.

Without urgent investment they could easily go down but they’d eat into the FFP allocation for some emergency signings that won’t be good enough to contend at the top.
