Why so serieuse?
Arsenal beat West Ham under Ljungberg's tutelage tuvm
Don't know why Pepe is getting dropped after good performances. Give him a run of games, we can see that the lad is quality. The front three should be-
Nelson/Saka/Martinelli Auba/Laca Pepe

I have mentioned during a game chat a few days ago that Pepe, as much as he is a skillful and quick player, cannot be utilized efficiently in 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 formations in the current Arsenal team that is lacking in talent and quality unless he adds defensive qualities to his own game; particularly, if Arteta continues to play Mesut Özil in the middle. Pepe can be a starter in a 4-4-2, 4-1-4-1, and 5-4-1 as the lone striker in #9 position. He is quick, he can hold onto ball, he can shoot, he is a good finisher. He might just need to add a little physical strength. The only downside I see in that role is that we don't get to see him score goals like Vardy, Kane, and Giroud with a header because that is a quality and much needed trait for a #9 position. The other alternative, probably the better one is that Arsenal play 4-4-2 formation with Auba and Pepe on each side; but then again, Mesut Özil needs to fill the front center and he is not a scorer by any means.

Some people suggested that Arteta is"implementing a system where it’s important that wide players maintain width." Pleeease! I guess that probably suggests that Pepe tend to cut inwards from the left instead of keeping the play along the line? Well if left-footed Pepe can't dribble tha ball along the touchline, it is not so difficult to switch him to the left side of the pitch, is it? He won't be able to cut inside even if he wanted.

For the time being until Arteta brings over enough quality players that he'd like to see in Arsenal uniform, he should use 4-4-2 and 3-5-2 formations. Mesut Özil can continue to roam and switch sides at the up front up as he used to do in the national team while Pepe and Auba plays the two forwards. Depends on the game and score, you bring in Lacazette, particularly, he is so out of shape and not a clinical finisher nowadays. As long as there are three healthy CBs (Chambers, Luiz, x-person), start with Pepe, Özil, and Auba. with 5 midfielders. Arteta shouldn't implement high up press like Liverpool or Man City. Your press should happen as soon as they pass the mid-line and with 5 midfielders , force the opponent to play through center; if they play wide, close on them in a timely fashion with the two wide midfielders and close his running path with the center back. You force them to cross the ball, send it out of bound. Majority teams do not have players like Sterling, Mane, Salah, Traore to take on multiple players. Even if they do, they will worn out quickly.

3 managers didn’t play him... one being Emery and 2 more who haven’t managed a win in their managerial career. What’s your point?
The point is, imagine how bad he is in training for 3 managers to refuse to start him given the already huge lack of quality and inability to win a game. The last 3 managers aren't complete idiot's. I can only imagine what sort of defense we might have if Pepe was starting

He just needs to simplify his game. He tries to do too much on the ball instead of laying it off and running into space. His triple double step overs confuse him more than they do his opponents and his first move is to get inside on his left.

It's incredibly predictable. Even a player as one footed as Robben would just hug the touchline, lay the ball off with one touch, attack the space. It's much harder to defend.

Basics first. The rest will come.

The system that we play requires very detailed tactical instructions for the winger. This system requires wingers to be tactically disciplined.

I remember when Sane came to city initially, he was benched in favour of ****ing Nolito. It wasn't until later he started to understand his role in the team did Pep started to give him starts. So, I haven't given up hope.

Pepe is the only player in our team capable of attracting 2-3 players and creating space for the central players to operate.

All he just needs to do is do the basics right and He'll be a monster.

Unlike many of Frances top talents that have gone through Clairefontaine, have a lot tactical understanding of the game and strong basics.

Pepe has had an unorthodox footballing journey, was a goal keeper as a kid. He's a diamond in the rough, very raw plays like a 20 year old rather than a 24 year old.

However he needs to grow up quick time. When you enter the big leagues any weakness will get exposed, at the moment his tactical and game basics are not up to par. On top of that, workrate is a minimum requirement in todays game.

Liverpool are the best team in the world but also the hardest working, same goes for Man City.

The question is, does Pepe have the hunger and desire to be the best? This is a question only Pepe can answer.

10-15 consecutive games under Arteta and he’ll be incredible.

Just need to let everything settle down a bit and ride out this Christmas period.

It’d be ridiculous to assume that Arteta doesn’t recognise his talent. I believe it’s just that he’s seen that Nelson is more susceptible to respond to the tactics he is trying to implement immediately and with games coming thick and fast, his hands are tied.

Give Arteta time to work with him and he’ll come good.

Some people really want to write this signing off so badly. Plenty of reasons why he could not be starting but yeah let's just assume that Nelson is a better player and ignore what our eyes have shown us.

Its a combo of people wanting to write him off already and others moaning that he isnt starting and acting like he is messi...

Yep, should be someone you would hate to defend against but he seems to make himself a dream to defend against atm

This is the most annoyng thing, he does this but then tries to dribble past them all instead of using the players he just created space for, zaha does this a lot as well, both players go up a level if they simplify their game imo

I hope the board are strong enough to realise pepe isn’t what we need both when we signed him and now and cut ties.FOR to many years we tend to hold onto players who underperform in hope they come good. USUALLy if they do they jump ship as soon as a big club comes knocking (Alexis,RVp) or if they’ve turned out to be a flop turn we get stuck with them on massive wage a (mesut,MIKI) Pepe clearly has talent but we don’t have time wait anymore or carry passengers with tmsuch pressing issues in the squad . Go get Adama Traore who reminds me of mane at Southampton before he went to Liverpool. Arteta is a brilliant coach who could really bring him to the next level especially wit the spanish connection
