Classic cûnt behavior this, slagging off one player to talk up another. You could just say what you want to say about Pepe, no need to piss on Hleb like that. ;)
I literally had no time for Hleb honestly. One of the most ineffective attacking players we’ve ever had but because he looked good doing what he was doing he got a lot of praise on AM.

Weak mentality, didn’t contribute nearly enough - I’m quite happy to never see that sort of player ever again. I much preferred Nasri and Rosicky.

I already prefer Pepe too, his first season here he’s already shattered whatever contributions Hleb had made in his entire Arsenal career, who had a better team too. He has way more in the locker also - Hleb couldn’t even shoot or cross.

He contributed a ****ing lot.
If it wasn’t him we wouldn’t have played that good. His dribbling ability is unreal and ****ing insane, it’s like having super glue sticking the ball to his feet.

Why do you need to cross if you can dribble past 3 players towards the box and make a short pass to the striker.
If it wasn’t adebayor or walcott these low technique shxt who constantly wasted his chances and lost possession by unable to control the ball in tight areas, we would have won everything.

He had great dribbling ability but he was an extremely limited player and we did just fine/the same when he bounced to Barcelona.
He contributed absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things except some nice moments combining with Cesc and them - only guys who mostly watched/grew up in the Emirates era care about that.

Insane dribbling ability. Keep possession and get the ball under control in tight areas.
Good pace.
Through pass was also great.
Great teamwork to combine with rosicky, Fabregas and van persie (injured later). Constantly involve in build up play.
How is this equals to contributed to nothing.

THIS ARE ALMOST EVERYTHING YOU NEED FROM ATTACKING PLAYERS.

Look at 2009-2012 Spain.

We qualified for top 4 whilst he was here.
We qualified for top 4 after he left.
His contributions were always the single digits even in his best season.
He won absolutely nothing during his time here.
In the grand scheme of things except for dribble and combine well with our World Class players at the time he did nothing.
Contributed almost nothing.
Won nothing.
Furthermore let’s not forget it took him ages to get settled and start clicking, a luxury Pepe does not have.
Sorry buddy it’s just the truth. If you prefer Hleb that’s ok, doesn’t mean he is better or what we needed, he never was.

Like I said only guys who hopped on during the Emirates era care about Hleb. I prefer a lot of players who came before or after.

If we have Nasri/Arshavin in place of walcott (the possession wasting machine),
and Sanchez for adebayor (the chance wasting machine),
(And get rid of the defenders except Toure).
We would have ****ing destroyed the league like Spain did to other teams on an international level.

Hleb, Rosicky, Fabregas, Van Persie...they have given so much for that shxt squad. If it wasn’t them we were already a mid-table team. And if they had the chance to play with better players, we would have won so many titles.

Massively underrated because he refused to shoot and took Pires' left wing spot. Dribbling, combination play, passes through the lines and weight of pass were exceptional.

Would be starting every game right now.

Even when we were totally blowing up at the end of the season he still put in performances at places like Old Trafford in a genuine title run in. Although it's pretty much been erased from my mind, pretty sure he made the chances Henry missed in the CL final.

He was overrated (amongst Arsenal fans in their early twenties or something), you don’t win anything with guys like Hleb as one of your main threats. This is facts.

Like I mentioned, it took Hleb a while to get going as well, in a team with much better players and a top class manager. It clicked for him towards the end of his Arsenal career but yeah you guys are grossly overestimating this guys importance.

Pepe is the future. Doesn’t have the close control of Hleb of course- but still the best dribbler in the club, wicked shot, dead ball specialist, pace, can find our forwards - the combination play and defensive duties will improve just like it did with Hleb who was given space and time to grow.

Pepe’s already got a cup to his name where he actually contributed I’m way more excited over him than I ever was over a loser like Hleb.

Hleb was extremely underrated by scums.

Fabregas, rosicky, Van perise didn’t win things here either. Because they are bad player? ****ing not! They were playing with shxt players.

Replace 2009-2012 Spain starting eleven (that full of world class players) with 2 walcotts, and a shxt defence. Can they dominate possession like how they did? They would have won nothing too.

Played a part in a run to a cup final in 2006, we played a slightly better team in that final though...

One of the first names on the teamsheet in a team which lost 3 league games all season and the majority of attacking options through the season but he's a "loser".

The guy left 12 years ago so doesn't seem worth talking about at 10am tbh, if you didn't rate him then you're not going to rate him now. Oh well.

Hleb is most definitely a loser.

You're right though not worth talking about. All preferences at the end of the day.

It’s about Pepe now anyways I only brought up Hleb because I noticed people are happy to nitpick at Pepe all day long but can be perfectly fine with a clearly limited and flawed player like Hleb. It’s nonsense but I’ll drop it.

Hleb was one of those players that would be great or useless depending on what team he is in due to his low output...luckily our 2005-2008 teams that he played in had enough goal scorers in them to make up for that, so Hleb always looked quality (to me anyway) amazing on the ball.

Plus he looked like a younger Willem Dafoe, so there was a lot to like about our lil Green Goblin...except when he went to Milan to get ice cream of course

Hleb was class, I have a soft spot for him because he's the most prominent footballer to have ever played for the local team I support as well - albeit well past his prime.

I mean, he can be both, no? Hleb was a very skilled midfielder but his inability to finish and get into goalscoring opportunities did put a cap on his capabilities and kept him from being truly world class.

Which team was this if you don’t mind me asking?
