How **** do you have to be in training to not to get used in a game where we are drawing against Norwich and the only other attacking subs are couple of 18 year olds who have never in their career made a difference in a PL game

Freddie said that he also subbed in Saka because in the context of the game at that time we needed someone who also could contribute defensively.

Said it for a long time. His actual touch is appalling and it may look good in the French League but he was always going to get found out in the EPL. Poor positioning sense and poor first touch (and he has both) can't be coached, you either have them or you haven't and he hasn't.

Hopefully, we can find some other saps and at least recoup some of the money.

You cut him some slack for the first few months, but now you really expect him to play and make an impact.

Very disappointing signing so far.

He needs to be given a chance to show what he can do. Yes he hasn't been great but that can all be explained by settling in period. He could be a flop too but atleast we need to see him on the pitch long enough to judge. Emery completely lost faith in him (think he just couldn't forgive him for missing the sitter against Sheff Utd). He probably was hoping this was going to be a new start with Freddie. Turns out Freddie isn't keen on him too.

I still have seen enough flashes of brilliance from him to think he will come good.

Difficult to see why things turned bad for him since that Liverpool game where he absolutely destroyed them his performance been up and down since then and emery not try him in some games

Let's all remember that took Fabinho about 7 months to became Liverpool regular starter. Pepe could turn like Fabinho or flop like Kieta

Im bewildered that hes getting criticized. Im gonna give him a break tbh, sometimes you need way more than 8 prem starts and you also need consistent week in week out football to adapt. I think its madness to be honest. All of this must be shooting his confidence. He showed some good stuff, some not so good stuff but you can tell he can be a top player with time.

Has Freddy watched Saka play defense? This is worrying if Freddy thinks Saka is an asset defensively.

He needs to play, simple. He’s too good to be warming the bench.

It's baffling to me how he has been basically frozen since that game he won us with the 2 FKs, you'd think that if his problem was confidence that was the critical moment where he should be getting plenty of playing time.

We basically did the exact opposite, aside from the CP game where he was probably our best offensive player. Weird stuff.

I think it's more that he rates his defensive contribution higher than Pepe's rather than Saka being good and he felt that the game was too open and we were too prone to being countered to risk putting Pepe on.

Not sure what all the debate is about. Clearly low on confidence, playing in a very disjointed attack in a toxic club environment. He looks like an introverted character, making adjusting to a new country and team even more difficult. He'll come good in time.

Granted, he has missed some absolute sitters, but he's been one of our better performers whenenever he's played and you can clearly see his quality on the ball. Man put VVD and Robertson on the floor on his first league start.

People want to say they were one of the first ones that said he would flop. Like they're gonna get money for it or something.

There is nothing that shows Saka is a better defensive option than Pepe in my humble opinion.
