I thought about him, is also in the France WC squad.

It's just that he has at max. played 2600 minutes in Ligue 1 in his career. The next season 2200 in Bundesliga. Then 1700 minutes in Bundesliga.

This season 1300 minutes in Bundesliga thus far, which is a promising sign.

Although a cheap or a free transfer, it carries big risks. He has had many injuries in his career.

He has played only as a striker this season. Overall in his career he has played half as a striker and half as a LW.

Tottenham doesn't have a backup striker other than Richarlison, and they might have to sell Kane next year. It's an opportunistic signing.

Well he can't say that Arsenal didn't rate Martinez as a 57 million pounds player when Zinchenko was available for the inverted LB role for 30 million.

Looks like he wants to entertain United fans. If he thinks what is best for Ajax like he says, of course he would sell to Arsenal if Arsenal pays more money. His words don't make sense.

Well they did well fleeced utd 160m on above mid players. We paid half of that for G.Jesus and Zinchenko.
Antony has much talent, but it's still not that likely he will become a better player than Jesus. And Jesus can play as a winger or a striker, while Antony likely can't.

To get these two EPL proven winners for half the price is just amazing business. Of course Zinchenko is somewhat injury-prone, but 27 million pounds less than Martinez makes it all worthwhile.

Both the players utd bought are good players but they payed way over thier value we thought Martinez only valued 35m utd end payed near 60m and also Antony who max value was 50m. I'm happy we didn't fall into that trap

Seven year deal??
James signed a 6 year one apparently on over £200k a week. Think their strategy is to tie down long term by paying a bit extra at the time like Levy did with Kane.

Backfires if the player flops.

A seven year deal is just crazy. From both parties mind.
The best way to do contract in my opinion is to have those options for another year(s), where the player also gets a raise.

This way you won't lose them for free, but also in case of a flop/bad injury, you don't have a long contract.

That's what Arsenal has done recently which is great.
