Mutable is different, but really he should take heed of Nwaneri's situation.

He's blatantly ready to play a bigger role but he is not, so yeah stock piling young talents does not make sense with this manager - it's just a preference that the fans want to see.

Get people who he will use.
I know, it was a bit tongue in cheek 😇

No he's right tbf. We have enough problems getting arguably one of the best 17 year old footballers in the world to play more than bleep test minutes. Clearly Toure is making the safer, smarter decision. That said, it still bodes badly for us. It means we're still going to be relying on Sterling and Jesus past the Jan window and potentially buying/loaning ill-fitting attacking profiles for what we're trying to do. I have little confidence in our attacking recruitment.

Thinks he's better than Havertz.

I don't follow U23 like you do, but I hear/read the Chido Obi-Martin saga didn't go down well at Arsenal at all.

I was all aboard the Dortmund/Brighton route a couple of years ago when we were rebuilding. Now I believe it’s more about getting ready made players in and developing the odd wc talent in our own ranks.

I think the management of Nwaneri is largely the correct one. I’d personally like to see more minutes and specifically for Øde and Saka, in addition to starting some cup games.

When it comes to recruiting young talents we’re probably right to focus on bolstering the academy and hoping someone takes off like Nwaneri given where we are as a club atm.

I would imagine not. The plan was apparently to keep Obi-Martin playing U18 football with a few U21 opportunities thrown in the mix, which IMO is ridiculous given he basically scored 2 seasons worth of goals in a schoolboy year. The word is the money was the ultimate deal-breaker, but I think that's from our side and I do think there's validity to the claim that we weren't ready to promote him higher.

Ironically though, Man United are basically following the same model with him and playing him for the U18s predominantly, while Andre Harriman-Annous has basically slotted into Obi-Martin's spot and is now playing more U21 football than U18 at the moment.

I agree, I'm pretty happy with Nwaneri's management - in a vacuum! I admire Arteta's will to protect him even amidst the call for him to play more. That said, he probably shouldn't have put himself in this position and actually signed some better creative and attacking talent. As far as bolstering the academy, the recruitment has been relatively slow but we've signed a couple pretty sought after talents.

I also read this but didn't want to put that out there about a kid.
I hear you. FWIW I think he's entitled to want more personally - if we're looking at it from the POV of a young footballer, if someone out there is mad enough to pay it (i.e. United) then the onus is on us to match it and ultimately I think - even with all those goals he scored - that the brass didn't rate him as highly as we and everyone else all did. It even kinda shows in the way we've dealt with Harriman-Annous, who seems to be under the radar for most of us yet the club have promoted him to U21s almost permanently at 16 and the club seem to really like him, especially since his move to #9. He was the first to get offered a scholarship of the current batch (Obi-Martin already had a pre-agreement in his U15 season).

Yousif Arsenal

Was on Vinai's payroll; misses 4th place trophy 🏆
I wouldn't look his way if ge were offered for free.

He' be better served pulling a Winston Bogarde & collect the remain £53 million owed him by United per his contract.
He need to change teams but he earn 300k no big team will give them that with the way he stinking on pitch
