I hope it works out for him.
Call me cynical, but I just don't see how you can play so little football over the past few years and then come back at the top level. Especially someone who's biggest strength coming from their running and physical attributes. Perhaps Serie A pace might favour him a bit more, not a chance he'd be able to come back at PL level for example.
But who knows, maybe things will click.
