If true this feels like a possible missed opportunity at that price. Whenever I've seen him play I've always thought he was pretty good. Could been a low risk, low wages squad player to help with the White / Timber injury prone situation, with White maybe moving central whilst Saliba is out.

This is what I’d do too personally. £25m doesn’t really seem much considering we’d have an actual attacking alternative to Timber once Saliba is fit and it’ll also give us time until the market or even the academy (Salmon) becomes favourable in having a decent RCB who can cover with Mosquera for Saliba.

My guess is that we haven’t sufficiently bribed agents over the years to entice them to do us a solid (ie. use their leverage elsewhere) when we need to move a player.

It's actually unreal how easily City and Chelsea get rid of high wage earner flops and turn a profit on top of it all. Maybe Kroenke also needs to start making 'investments' into external interests of 'buying clubs'.
